Think anyone ever files out of anger?

Today i was wondering, do you think many people file for separation or divorce out of anger or to try to get the dumpee to realize they need to change?

Yes. Absolutely. Likely a higher percentage than we'd suspect.

I've always assumed, perhaps erroneously, that anger and hurt were the primary reasons for filing for divorce. Read any contested divorce case summary for more evidence :)

Primarily those are the two top "emotions" exhibited during the filing stage.

 

My ex and I were rational by the time we filed, so the emotions were only those of sadness that we grieved our failure.
