KoalaStar Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I have been with my boyfriend for just over a year. I am absolutely 100% unconditionally and totally in love with him! It was love at first sight and I've never felt so strongly for someone (I've been with someone for three years before and never felt this way) I have never felt real love until I met him. The first four months were perfect, he was so loving and affectionate and I thought I had my perfect soul mate. Then it sort of changed he isnt affectionate and hes said he doesnt believe in being affectionate in public (it didnt bother him before!) He doesnt seem to understand me at all and when I ask him why he loves me he never answers, he always picks at me and I cant see why he's with me if he thinks I have so many faults. I've tried talking to him but he gets all worked up and defensive and turns it on me and insults me some more. I'm always the one who has to say sorry. If I stay I get hurt because to have someone you love so much treat you that way is a killer, if I leave I'll be leaving my only/first true love and I would be breaking my own heart. I need serious help!!!
TheDovic Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 We all have first loves, but the great thing about us is we can find love again. I've found it twice and both times felt like heaven. My point is you can find it again too, and you can find it with someone who isn't emotionally abusive. I know you love this person and want to be with him but the reality is, once the honeymoon period ended he has shown his true colours, and believe me, people like this rarely change. Personally I'd get out before it was too late!
