Anonymous1338 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Sorry if it's ridiculously long. I'm 18, and in my freshmen year of college. This girl and I have mutual feelings for each other, but last Saturday night when we were out with a group of friends, she asked me if I liked her because of a text my friend had sent from my phone, and I freaked and didn't answer her and she took it as a know and was hurt. (She shed a couple tears) So today (couldn't do it yesterday) I asked to have lunch on campus with her and I explained that I had freaked and that I liked her a lot...and she looked pleased....but nothing came out of our conversation besides that. We ended up just ending the conversation talking about something else, and I felt like I had missed something important when we parted though I felt overall the lunch went pretty well. I've only had one girlfriend and it wasn't pleasant, so it was hard for me to talk to her like I did today but I did it anyway. I don't know if I should have asked her to be my girlfriend (do people even do that?) or what. My bud who has been helping me says I should ask her on a real date now that it is all out in the open, but I'm not sure where to go. I'm so lost on what I should say/do to progress our relationship, and being the antsy person I am when it comes to relationships, every worst case scenario is playing through my head, especially the one where she simply doesn't want a relationship with me anymore. I have exams I'm studying for and this is such a distraction, and I need to put my worries to rest.

maysj18 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Definitely ask her out! Just invite her to watch a movie with you take the risk
Casablanca Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Ask her out already! Dinner and something fun like putt-putt, bowling, walk in the park, etc
The Outlaw Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 You'll never know unless you try. Just because your first relationship wasn't the best, doesn't mean this one could be. Ask her out, and see where to go from there. Good luck
