Well, that's not grounds for divorce in my book. If I married a guy who was obese, and I was myself obese, but later became thinner, I would encourge him, but not pressure him, to lose weight, just because it is the healthy thing to do. But I would never feel justified in leaving him for that reason.

Funny how your username is Content and there's absolutely none of it in your post.

LOL I thought the exact same thing! "Content -- this post has none."

And to provide actual content -- no, not everyone would do that, but many people would. Aaaaand... what's your point. It surprised you?

If you know anything about this world of weight loss surgery and related social issues, this story is not all that unusual. And it's never as simple as it appears. Perhaps her decision was based entirely on a long-term plan to move on from him. How do we know he's a victim? Perhaps he's an enabler who is toxic to her health that likes her fat so he can control her. You don't know. Sometimes people who have the surgery develop a whole new identity and they simply can't stay rooted in the systems that sustained the "prison" they were previously in. Everyone has his or her own story.
