Ha. I've had plenty of ergot excursions, but thankfully none of them poisonous.

Ohhhh baby - and I bet you shredded their wheat while you were at it.

But before I went on my daily googling expedition, and even having all hamsters on deck at full power, the best my brain could come up with on its own for ergot poisoning was a bad batch of this :lmao::

Although anything with a splash of cognac can't be that bad to eat, can it Frisky?.

What is ADT?

I meant ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I've been dealing with the security company, ADT, for my job and they have been on my brain lately... :o

Hope he will call to set a date for the dinner!

Thomas called last night and we talked for an hour. We are having dinner on Thursday.

Then I went to Facebook to add him as a friend and discovered we share the same birthday. Is that weird or what???

There are some odd red flags which have me cautious; like he is a classically-trained pianist (I DID hear him play), owns $10m in artwork, and has to leave for Tripoli next week for his work with the Department of the Defense?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Haha - yes, that's an odd combo. Whichever way this swings romantically, you should at least be able to have some very interesting discussions. Why don't you extract US' inner policy secrets on Libya and repost them here - I'm interested

Just keep an open mind, positive attitude and be patient. So many folks have a bumpy time with first dates, with anxiety and uncertainty in setting an appropriate pace that works for both parties.

With so much in common, give him a couple solid chances to get to know him, you owe yourself that. I hope the dinner conversation is delightful, at the very least.

I'm looking forward to your feedback about him here afterwards. Remember your number one accessory for the evening, will be your beautiful smile. Enjoy! :D

Well, if you have the same astrological sign, it might explain the understanding on a subconscious level.

But please forgive me for being sceptical, you are sure he did not know your birthday in one way or another before this becoming friends on Facebook thing?

One remark: do NOT use the real first names of these men on this site. It is a small world and you should respect their privacy.

For the rest: enjoy and be careful (you don't know this guy so only believe what you see). Do not have sex with him too soon because it might taint whatever potential there is for a long term relationship.

Carrie, I know that moment, that spark when like meets like. Even if it doesn't flare into a conflagration, enjoy it for now, live in the moment and just...savor. I hope you have a great time getting to know this guy a little better and enjoying that tingle, that rush, the excitement of something promising and new.

He sounds a thousand times better than limp d**k Daniel.

Haha, that sounds like something out of a 50s Cosmo, or alternatively a 50s tooth whitening ad. :lmao::)

Well, it wasn't limp - but I get your point...

The more I don't hear from Daniel the more I realize he is like heroin to me. I crave and I want it and know that ultimately it is bad for me.

I have had insomnia since I met him (11 weeks ago); I wake up every night, physically craving him so I am pragmatic that I understand the illogicality of the obsession.

Fortunately, as well as Thursday night's date, I am also corresponding with two other interesting online prospects. That, and today, a guy I met almost a year ago bumped into me at IKEA and with the 20+ pounds I've lost, was truly impressed and has been texting me all afternoon so there might be a prospective date there as well.

Things ARE changing for the better and I am just thankful I am being level-headed in all regards.

And thanking all of you here for listening and for your feedback.

Awesome. Very glad to hear this.

I myself am ready to start meeting less zeroes, more heroes. :p

He left a message an hour before the date and cancelled, claiming illness. He also asked if we could make it tomorrow night.

But I am going out of town early tomorrow morning and I am certain I told him this (or maybe he thinks I'm not leaving until Saturday).

We'll see...

In the meantime, talking to a handful of others online and one of them, "A" wants to meet me next weekend. "A" and I have already had an hour-long phone conversation and the topics were similar to those covered by "T" and I so at least I am finally talking to men with bizarrely similar interests.

I have a new knitting project I wanted to start anyway...
