la_trojanskin Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Short and sweet of it. Met a wonderful woman...instant chemistry to the point I thought this could really be the one. We dated 6 weeks and I had to go away for 7 months overseas for work so contact wasn't great. Before I left she said she didn't want to date anyone b/c we'd met and hoped I felt the same. We managed a monthly phone call and some texts every week. I just recently got back state side but I'm about 4 hours away from her. Up until a month ago she'd talked about coming down and visiting and in the past 2 weeks with her grad school starting up has been distant/busy. Last text I got from her said as much and that she has no life now w/school and being a research assistant. Is it time I got off my ass and went up there and saw her? Invit myself? b/c she hasn't invited me. Not sure if she just wants to be left alone as I've been gone forever and its faded or, if she felt what I felt, just seeing one another again would be enough to get things back on track potentially. Never done this whole coming after someone your really want thing and feel like it only happens in movies...aka not sure if this is applicable behavior to real life.

You have to do it the right way though. My friend flew to europe to get his GF back... only to find that 2 weeks after their breakup she already had a new BF. So life favors those who take risks. Just make sure you work within the bounds of her schedule, and that you put some serious planning and effort into it. Plus some flexibility. Just showing up with some pizza and beer one evening probably won't cut it, but maybe it will... depends on the girl.
