happythroughout Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I got asked out by this guy I knew through work. I told him that I just started seeing someone but I could do a friendly catch up. He was gracious and said okay to that. As we said goodbye, he told me he enjoyed the catch up and that if my boyfriend and I didn't mind, he would like to see me again. Does he want a shot at it, given that my relationship with my boyfriend is so new? Or is it just a platonic relationship he's looking for?
Casablanca Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 My guess is he is trying to win you over, since your new bf is so new, the relationship wont be very strong yet
Author happythroughout Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 Is that "okay?" I mean it's like him wanting to "cheat" and wanting me to "cheat" with him. Anyone else has an opinion too?
january2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I think that it could lead to situations that could be seen as cheating. If he likes you romantically, you don't have any intentions of cheating on your boyfriend, breaking up with him to pursue the new guy or leading on the new guy, then it's probably best not to pursue this.

Do you think he likes me romantically? I'm more concerned about whether it's that or not. Because if it's romance he's after, that he's prone to cheating?
january2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I don't know. But I do wonder if he would still like to see you again when you tell him that you can't offer him anything else other than friendship.
Author happythroughout Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 Good point. I just need more opinions before I decide what this is.

Unless you are someone he has known forever. 2. Unless he has a GF, the only person cheating in this type of scenereo is the woman. It's not up to a single person to police the object of their desire's faithfulness, it's up to the object.

Casablanca Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 So in this case, it would make me the cheating one? In a word, yes
Author happythroughout Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 But why would he want to make me cheat? Does he like me so much that he still wants me after he knows of my status? Or he doesn't care?
