M2155 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I don't know if anyone reads Mimi Tanners email newsletter (after all, she's out to make money) but this was a positive message today: Every now and then, life provides a wake-up call. It can come from any part of your life, whether it's your love life, a friendship, a career problem, or a crisis. Wake-up calls are a lot like having a baby. Wake-up calls can be painful and messy. They involve weeping and gnashing of teeth... which really bites, if you rarely weep!...Hey, I cried over tonight's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" - you'd have to be made of stone NOT to cry over that one! (My favorite TV show; one of the two I ever watch ) Wake-up calls are the worst when they come out of nowhere. The surprise factor is brutal! In dealing with the fallout of a wake-up call, we sort out which bits we were responsible for, and what was "really" behind the disaster - aka "how could this happen??? How could I let this happen? Did I know this all along? Did I actually invite this disaster?"When your love life brings you one of those horrible surprises - which can come in so many different packages - the shock can be massive. But time will get you through it.You'll know this in your bones even before you get to the good part: this will ultimately work out to lead to something better. When it comes to love, you may scream, "I don't want something 'better' - I want THAT person!!" Well, it's going to be okay, anyway. THAT person is not going to look the same way to you - later on. There's no telling how long "later on" will take. It may come to you in LAYERS... over many years! When you find yourself face to face with "something so much better than you ever imagined," you'll KNOW that this was not only part of growing and learning, it was a GIFT to you. I'm not exactly sure why some things that turn out to be gifts hurt so much at first.... But I think it's because we're asleep and we need that wake-up call. Take care of yourself; it's your most important job!
