this is a question for guys that are hiding something from the person they love

OK,this is for all you guys (men)...I am getting along better than ever with my ex....but there is one thing holding him back from a relationship. This has been bothering him for a long time,since right before we broke up it started in. I sent him a card and told him whatever the burden he was carrying I wish he would confide in me.

 

He told me to let it go....I care about you too much and I don't care if anyone else found out,but I don't want you to. It would make you think differently of me and I couldn't take that.

 

What could possibly be so bad that he can't tell me. I know he had a terrible temper growing up and he did abuse his sis and mom,but could that be it???He doesn't know I know about this,his sis told me a few weeks ago. I have seen the side of him that nobody else has,when we are alone and he is a wonderful person.

 

Any kind of incite would help me figure this out so when he did tell me I could deal with it. Thanks everyone for your support.....

Love is about trust. Love is believing that your beloved loves you so much that things in your past will not scare him or her away. Tell your fellow that if others know about this, you will eventually too. He needs to believe in your trust, love, and acceptance.

I did that last night in an email.He doesn't normally read them until he comes home for lunch. He has opened up soooo much in the past week,but this is torturing him. I know his dad was sent to prison for molesting his sis,but I hope that he didn't do it to him also. I have all these things running through my mind on what it could be. My mom told me to give him time and don't pressure him,and I told him last night I would drop it.So now I just sit here and wait for him to let it go,and that is what he does,he just blurts it out.Thanks for the help Moimeme
