grkBoy Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 You all should watch the newest Jenna Marbles video on Youtube...it's hilarious and pertains to this discussion.
Kamille Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Just look at our political discourse today. Look at the Tea Party and how polarized this country is politically. Look at people's voting patterns. It sure isn't too PC is it? I wish more misandrists would just come right out and say they hate men actually. That's probably because contrary to what you believe, most of the regular posters here don't hate men. Only a minority of women hate men, just like a only a minority of men hate women. Both of these groups have issues. The rest of us are mostly just doing our best to get along, because we like and respect each other.

Kamille Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I never said all women hate men but I can spot a misandrist from a mile away and I wish they would just be honest. Well, fair enough. Can you also spot the misogynists a mile away?
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Well, fair enough. Can you also spot the misogynists a mile away? Of course but misogynists in my book are much easier to spot.
samsungxoxo Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 What's wrong with drinking a lot at times esp. when invited to a party? Or are men the only ones who are suppose to drink sooo much and women only a few sips??? I can drink as much as a man and don't get drunk easily. I'll go for strong drinks if invited to a party, not just simply beers that does nothing but makes you constantly go to the bathroom. If someone has a problem with that, then I can careless and go on drinking some more.
Kamille Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Of course but misogynists in my book are much easier to spot. Okay, and does nothing about Shaun-dro's opening post strike you as misogynistic?
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Okay, and does nothing about Shaun-dro's opening post strike you as misogynistic? It is blatantly misogynistic and he is a misogynist but it is true that many young women these days love to emulate Snooki. There was one episode where she so drunk she was arrested by public intoxication and was on the boardwalk asking people where the ocean was. This is supposed to be something to emulate?

I'm going to go open a bottle of red wine right now. I did buy some really fabulous cheese today to go with. I think I will drink the whole entire bottle of my deliciously cheap Trader Joe's wine. Savoring each thick alcholic swallow coating my tongue. While I daze myself into a drunken stuper and then I will go wander the streets bumping apologetically into men and small children. I might even drunk text some of my friends!
allina Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Don't you women understand? If you drink more than twice, you're doomed! Thank you for clarifying that, loser.
Kamille Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 This is supposed to be something to emulate? No, I don't think it's something to emulate. But, strangely, it reminds me of the public outrage when Beavis and Butthead came out. People have been up in arms about the "bad influence" tv is on youths since its very early days. I wonder if any studies have been done on how much tv actually influences us. (Note to self: look it up). Also, back when I was in college, my guy friends used to have these ridiculous drinking contests. They often could not even walk out of the bar, would pass out under the tables, etc. So while women drinking might be more prominent nowadays, we should also worry about all those beer adds who associate masculinity with heavy drinking.
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Beavis and Butthead are not real while Snooki is.

The only person who suggested that was the OP and it's really not worth getting wound up or trying to debate with an obvious troll. Unless you're on about other posters in the thread?
Disenchantedly Yours Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Beavis and Butthead are not real while Snooki is. So is The Situation. He's real..where is your outrage over him?
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 So is The Situation. He's real..where is your outrage over him? He doesn't actually get wasted that often. The show is filmed in my town so I know what they are really like beyond the show and Snooki, Ronnie and Deena are actually the only trainwrecks. I wish the whole show would leave though. People around here love September because it is still warm but JS and the people it attracts are gone so we can enjoy things.
FrustratedStandards Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 So we can lower our standards, otherwise a lot of us would still be virgins.
AHardDaysNight Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Drinking isn't the problem, at least in moderation. The problem is your age. You're around immature college students, who are partying and trying to live it up, because they can for the first time in their life. They will soon grow tired of it, and become more mature. Either that, or they'll turn into alcoholics and grow old.
Easyguy14 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 All joking aside, Shaun-Dro is always trolling for a big reaction, and I think he's pretty smart about reliably crafting a thread to get just that. But, I'm still just as horrified by blatant sexism as I am by racism. I swear I don't live an insulated life ... why is it that none of the men I know, young or old, would be caught dead expressing any stuff like this? agree that shaun-dro is trolling for crafty topics that will get attention in a heartbeat but he's still right about the increase in women drinking with a jump in getting out of control with it because it was on the news recently and I've seen evidence of this in bars after work. it looks pretty bad only because they don't handle the liquor as well.
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Many clubs and bars around here are hiring female bouncers to deal with it because they are not afraid to do what needs be done if things get out of control.
Lucky_One Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 This is a phenomenon that I've discovered and it's on the rise. I shake my head at this because it's sad and pathetic and makes you women look so much worse than you already do. Not to mention, how so easy it is to let a strange guy bag those goodies. Every time I'm out and about on a Friday, more than half the women on the streets are drunk, drunk texting, walking in a fog because of drinks, or just plain tipsy from several wine glasses. Don't you women understand? If you drink more than twice, you're doomed! We can't help it, Shaun. Every time a woman is close to you, she has to get drunk in an effort to forget that she's seen you.

Where is your outrage over Ronnie?
Woggle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I'm sorry but the Situation isn't exactly a glowing example of manhood. Where is your outrage over Ronnie? Ronnie is a jerk who has an anger problem. The situation is just a player and women line up to volunteer.
AlexDP Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I think too many people drink too much, men and women. Don't get me wrong, I'm Belgian, I love a good beer every now and then, but I hate how being drunk is often glorified. People go out to get wasted. That's not my idea of a nice night out at all. A drunk girl is very unattractive though, no matter how pretty she may be.

A drunk girl is very unattractive though, no matter how pretty she may be. I agree. Sloppy drunks (male of female) are, at best, a liability and at worst tap into my concern for their well being but any help I offer enables further self-abuse which annoys me.

(Note to self: look it up). I think if you look for the situation in Bhutan and the introduction of TV there, you can find an example of an external stimulus (TV) affecting people's behaviour. Here's an article on it: http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2003/jun/14/weekend7.weekend2 But isn't it pretty obvious words and images affect how we think and therefore behave?
