irc333 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Recently, I had been friends on FB with an engaged couple for some time now.....a few months ago, they had broken up. Drama ensued, and people by association where removed as friends (picking sides) as a result. One person removing friends that were friends with HIS friends and vice-versa. I as of yet was removed from both sides....so I still remain....until now....recently I had my male FB friend ask that I remove his fiance from my friends list....to help him "cope" with his break up or help in the healing process somehow. I have to be quite honest, I never really considered a close friend much, just an acquaintence, I can only count on ONE hand the people I consider myself close to as a friend, and he's not one of them, and also......during the course of his break up.....he kept posting on his wall and airing out his personal relationship with his Fiance' or whatever relatoniship problems he was having with her on his FB wall....so.....I kinda lost respect for him there. But dragging ME into this, and asking me to unfriend her...quite unrealistic, yes? My suggestion that he just deal with his coping mechanisms some other way and not rely on others to for others, because that comes from within. Yes, No?

Author irc333 Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 FB doesn't make the drama...it's the PEOPLE such as this guy, that creates their own drama. Wait... What? I thought everyone who uses Facebook has the perfect life and is happy all of the time?!?!?!?!?! I have never used Facebook but everyone tells me that there is something wrong with me since I am not on there missing out on all the "excitement", friendships and drama. Just thinking about not being on Facebook makes me feel like a loser since I don't have 1,500+ "friends" like Facebook users do. I mean really, how pathetic am I that I only have 10 or so "friends" that would help me bury a body if I asked them too. After reading this post, I have made up my mind... I am going to go sign up right now so I can have a perfect life / drama like everyone else on Facebook too! Will all of you be my Facebook Friend?

Couldn't care less about it. People nowadays take that stuff really seriously. Mind you there is still some people out there that just have it to keep in touch with family/friends. As for the OP, there is two situations here: 1) You remove her from your friends list, then all hell breaks loose. From what I hear, removing someone off FB is like having a death wish. People take that $hit seriously! Even deleting someone off BBM! Kinda sad in my mind. Taking that road could cause some more drama. 2) You tell your friend to deal with it. Your not removing her because you don't see a need to. As of right now your not involved in their drama. But once you do remove her, you most definitely will be! Option #2 is my choice!
