So I kind of like one of my good friends. We have so much in common, and she always tells me how I am so sweet. Well lately she went back to a guy who cheated on her before and their has been nothing me or any of her best friends could do.

She just wrote on my Facebook wall the other day "hey" and I don't know if/how I should respond. Her friends think I am the only one left who can change her stupid subconscious mind. So I'm thinking I could either play hard to get towards her, or ignore things and let her get hurt again like she is guaranteed to do.

I mean do I respond to things like that? We only talk a lot at group outings(Don't text often anymore at all), should I try talking to her everyday for a week and then just stop? Do I just ignore her when we go out with others? I want to try doing this without sacrificing our friendship because I want to be there to help her when she gets hurt if I can't do anything else.

And I am NOT solely waiting for her, I am completely open to dating others, it's just I am not with anyone at the moment.

Men “play hard to get” by having a purposeful and exciting life away from women and by having options. If your friend is dating someone else, good guy or not, don't try anything with her at all as far as dating is concerned. Go try something with someone else who is available. Meanwhile, make sure you have worthwhile goals and activities that mean something to you and your life.

If your friend wises up and leaves the guy who is treating her badly, you could try something then. But, it is absolutely a waste of your time to try to get a woman who is already involved. Not that it can never work, it just makes more sense to put your effort into something more likely to work.
