snowle Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I need some professional advice. In 2005 in was in the hospital for pneumonia. Regence Blueshield paid the bill then took it back citing it was a pre-existing condition. The hospital sent the bill to a collention company and back in 2007 started a lawsuit against me. I went to a lawyer and the whole thing stopped for awhile. Well it's been four years now and they are suing me again. This time my lawyer withdrew from the case. When they insurance company took the money back I had 90 days to get a lawyer but I was dealing from major depression and didn't get to a lawyer on time. I don't know what to do now. I faxed the courts a letter of extension so I can have more time to find a lawyer and see what my options are. In the meantime I put in a call to the hospital in hopes of asking them to waive the bill. I'm divorced with 2 kids and living with my parents. I'm also currently applying for foodstamps and disability. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. take care
Author snowle Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 hello luckycharms. As of now I do not have a lawyer. I suffer from chronic depression. I don't want to represent myself. My lawyer withdrew because I can't afford to pay him. The suit claimed it was a pre-existing condition. A collections co is handling it. My lawyer (before withdrewing) said they've filed a motion for default and I need to have a lawyer file an answer before sometime next month.
