If she chops her hair short like Ellen Degeneres or KD Lang and then puts on thick-rimmed glasses, that won't be very flattering. Yet look at Lisa Loeb. Beautiful woman. Even Tina Fey is very pretty with her glasses.

He luuurves women in glasses, and while my vision is actually not that bad I have started wearing my glasses probably 80% of the time since I met him, whereas before I only wore them about 25% of the time. I let him come with me when I'm getting new glasses and while the final decision is mine, I give him a lot of input and if there's a pair he really likes that I'm only meh on I will always get them as a backup pair. I have several pairs of very nice glasses now, funnily enough he never seems to balk at the price of a new pair although I'm pretty sure he'd argue with me if I spent that much on shoes . Guess I'm never getting LASIK.

For women, glasses are accessories (as far as appearance goes) that I think are flattering more often than not. I can only think of a couple of situations I view as universally bad: when the lenses are distractingly thick or when someone rather airheady is just using glasses to try and make herself appear more "intellectual".
