Perhaps its your dating style to just want to date one person at a time and if so, there is no need to feel guilty about that. I doubt you're asking for a firm commitment. If you met online, you can bet she is dating other guys and she likes you, but wants to meet other men as well. If you really want to reply, I'd shorten it even more and just say. "Thanks for letting me know how you feel. I prefer to date one person at a time and feel this is a better way to get to know someone." That is, if you feel that way and that's what motivated you to want to be exclusive. Generally woman take longer than men to know if they want you or not, so sometimes taking a bit of time to get to know each other is better and in a way she is right. no need to rush things esp. if you're just going to the movies. if sex i involved, I prefer to exclusive now.

Staying friends well they'll never will be the same thing.
