If a guy you were dating commented on a facebook picture of his male friend's date by writing the following...."wow, i'm impressed. Can you show me how?" Would you find that offensive as the g'friend?

I'm a guy but that seems incredibly insensitive to me.

Apologies but my original post should read as follows:

If your boyfriend commented on a facebook picture of his male friend's date by writing the following...."wow, i'm impressed. Can you show me how?" Would you find that offensive?

Ahh yeahh... I would absolutely be offended!! Is this guy your boyfriend or just a guy you are casually dating?

Posted

Yeah, that's messed up.

I'd probably walk away from that one...he's obviously scanning the crowd for the next best thing.

Facebook seems to cause more problems than it solves.

Agreed. I hate Facebook

Yes, it's offensive.

Even in the remote chance that he was just trying to connect with the male friend and didn't really think of what all it could insinuate...

it's, at best, inconsiderate and immature.

Thanks for all your replies! Would you consider this a red flag or would you over-look this comment if you knew this guy was a joker?

I would be offended too. Petal, how long have you been dating this guy?

Viva La Revolution! Vers le bas avec facebook! (or in good ole English.."down with facebook".)

How many dates have you been on (how serious are you?)

If I had just started dating this guy, I would take it as him complimenting his friend and trying to be funny. Although, he could have just said "Wow, she's pretty! Good for you man!"

Once I was with my ex and a female friend and they were trying to figure out if they had met a year or so before. My ex said, "no, because I definitely would have hit on you". Even though that was before he and I had met, it made me feel like total crap!

Point is, people can say things that they don't realize are foolish and hurtful.

I'm not dating him now but i was once did. I'm just noticing all the "red flags" (if you could call this example a red flag) in hind-sight now that i'm not "in love" with him. This guy made the comment on FB whilst in a long term r'ship with another girl. This guy also used to comment to me about hot girls (in general) that he used to see around when we were dating. I'm just trying to understand whether his behaviour is a result of immaturity/insensitivity or him being a joker.

This is insensitive and shallow. Glad you aren't dating him anymore.
