quietGuy13 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Well so i've been in a processing of discovering the problems i have and well first have tons of body problems and 2nd I have a speech problem. I can't succeed in jobs and they have fired me because i can't speak like an adult. Before i was stronger so i couuld do general filing and things were you would lift boxes etc but now i can't do that much. i mean i can do it but if i do it, then i can get torn again. I would like to work soon though, but it's gonna be a different route then the one typical people do. I just dont know what i could do? Because even if i get trainign in something, most companies want either talkers or strong people who can lift, walk alot etc. So what kind of jobs would be good for person whocan't speak well/cant understand well, and can't move much? I could work slowly in something, but this is a fast paced society no body wants slow people. Well i'm going to get some help as to what i can do..but just, any guys have any ideas?
Eddie Edirol Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 How about speech therapy first? Otherwise, youre looking at warehouse jobs.
Afishwithabike Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 If you're in the USA, your state's health department probably has a department for people with disabilities. Those departments typically have programs that assist disabled people in finding jobs. Why not contact that department in your particular state to find what openings there are? One good thing about doing that is you'll get an employer who is upfront about willingness to hire someone with a disability.
