After almost 5 years of doing a paper pushing job and massive mailings that involve me being on my feet copying and scanning for hours I decided I need to leave and take my chances in doing other things..i feel this is all I will be qualified for if I don't make changes even if it is taking a part time job for now and volunteering to broaden my skills. I feel like my self esteem and self worth has decreased significantly over the year and i feel for many reasons it has to do with still being at this job..the people are nice enough etc but I just feel I need to move on and take a chance.

I don't want to tell my boss I am quitting to quit..there are a few reasons why I dont want to..one important one is my main coworker will be taking a few months off soon. So with me leaving before it happens--it can cause some stress. I basically just want to say an old employer I kept in contact with offered me something full time and I just need a change and it's also not as labor intensive and not requiring me to be on my feet alot.

With all of this and me leaving--they don't need proof or anything of the new employer right? I would take my 401k money and put it in a IRA. It's basically none of their business right and can't ask for detailed information of this actually happening?

I just want to cover all my bases because I really feel it's time for me to leave.
