wasnt sure what forum to post this question in but here goes:

how long do most people wait before 1. exchanging phone numbers 2. meeting in public, (like for lunch or dinner)

lets say you meet a guy online, you message back and forth for days (or maybe weeks) ask questions, whatever, etc... but how long do you wait til you give out your number? or meet for lunch or dinner?

i personally think 2 days is way too short1 i guess maybe call me old fashioned, but it seems like most men i meet are so anxious to do everything the first few days! are they that desperate? what are there intentions?

i meet a guy fri and he already gave me his phone number, sent me a facebook friend request, sent me about 30 messages on the dating site and just gave me his email address tonight. he supposedly said that he is going to remove his profile from the dating site! lol! i hope not on my account!

I havent even attempted to call him. he keeps asking me to call him or text him, but im really not into the texting thing, i think its more for young people and teenagers, i mean c'mon im 41 years old! oh yeah and hes 44!

i told him that i would rather chat online for awhile and get to know him before the phone thing or meeting for lunch or dinner,( he already asked me to go mon)

i dont know, but the men i meet are interesteing , lets say for the least! the last 3 have been a little weird!

just want some feedback since i cant ask my friends because they are not on dating sites, meet men, or go out with men!

I met someone new online, we happened to be on at the same time after one message each. He IMed me. We chatted for an hour and he asked whether I would want to get dinner the next day. I suggested two other days and he chose the earlier of those two. The whole thing seemed a rush, at least on his side.

The date was terrible.

Now I see him online almost everyday.

So I would advise against haste. And I've learned that if it's too fast to be true, there's some issue behind it.

Yes things can go wrong with online way and yes the Face Book also. To me Face Book is good to see if someone you met in the real world is on Face Book. It does help if that new person gave you their full and last name along with their phone/cell number. Then you can type out their full name into google search and see what pops up. Also add their full name in images.google too. Funny I have found two slots for Face Book on someone I just met. She has two aliases but both for a first name but the last name is the correct spelling. First FB she's what you would want in a girl the second FB posting is what you don't want in a girl. So it's a nice FB vs the nasty FB. Oh boy good to catch that now before it go out of control! :o
