Stung Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 really? or is it because her son has had a bad streak of worthless women to deal with and now thinks no woman is good enough for him? I know if my son can't seem to find a faithful woman, I'd meet any one of his suitors with skepticism. It goes from trusting them from the get go, to they have to earn the trust. Yes, really. Perhaps you should take the advice proffered, and read more background. Your personal slant is understandable, but not applicable here.

Author Woggle Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Stung is right. My mother is a man hating loon who loves my cheating, drug abusing and violent ex more than she ever loves me and that is why she says my current wife is envious of her. She thinks every faithful woman who says she is happily married is a stepford wife who secretly wishes she was like the women who cheat on their husbands.
betterdeal Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Jesus, talk about projection (on your mother's part).

Woggle, as a fully grown adult it is your right to choose who you spend your time with. I'm sure that ceasing all contact with your mother wouldn't be easy, but have you ever considered it as a possible option? Your mother is poisoning you and making you ill and yet you always go back to be fed more poison! What benefit is there to you of maintaining a relationship with her?

The above sums it up sufficiently

I normally have nothing to do with her but her area is prone to flooding when there is heavy rain so I called to see if she was okay during Hurricane Irene. I check up on her and she proceeds to tear me to shreds and tell me that my wife would be a happy woman if I were washed out to sea.

I can understand your concern for her safety (sort of!) - she is your mother after all - but next time perhaps it would be sensible to either ring someone close to her to check on her or ask someone else to ring her and let you know?
