Hi all,

Long story short, my ex and I have been broken up for a little over a month (I originally called it off but she didn't want to get back together when I asked her a week later). We were together for a year, and we attend the same University and have lectures together. Anyway, after a period of NC we've arranged to have coffee on Monday.

After much soul searching, it's clear to me that the biggest problem that I had was that I didn't show her enough appreciation for all that she did for me whilst we were together - I didn't show her just how much she meant to me.

I know it's going to be a long road back and I'm prepared to do what is necessary, however I'm wondering if anyone has any (good!) advice on how best to show her how much I appreciate her whilst we're still in the "just catching up" stage. I'm planning to have coffee, then maybe get lunch a week later, before eventually working it up to an actual date in a few weeks.

I don't want to come on to her prematurely (that just sounds wrong...) and scare her off, but I do want her to see the change in me.

Again, any advice anyone has on how to show her how much I appreciate her and her efforts withouth scaring her off would be greatly "appreciated"!!

Thanks everyone!

Well... Be yourself, be a gentlemen, a little compliment won't hurt...

Ultimately, to show that you appreciate a girl/woman, is to show them respect... Accept them as the person they are... That's how you show you appreciate them...

Tell her what you told us. That you realize you didn't appreciate her enough and that you are willing to learn what she needs to receive from you.

I think it's better to be up front because if you wait a couple of weeks to let her know, you leave her twisting in the wind.

Good luck!
