Country_Girl Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 So, met this guy while he was on vacation in my home state for 3 weeks. I didn't plan on getting attached as he lives several states away. But we just kind of connected, no pun intended lol. I just really enjoy his company. Even the last night we spent together, we didn't hook up, we just cuddled all night, it was really sweet. I don't really want this to end, and it doesn't neccessarily have to, he plans on moving out here in Februrary. I'm just trying to figure out the delicate balance of remaining in contact...how much contact is too much, and what is not enough? If I don't hear from him in 2 days I usually send a text to make sure all is well, and he always calls me after a text, so that makes me think he's on the same page...he wants to communicate and not via text. If it were just a fling, don't you think he'd want to talk less on the phone? I don't know, obviousley never been in this situation before. Never had a fling, one night stand, or any of that before. I just don't know how to proceed. I mean, if it was just a fling, he would have stopped talking to me by now, right?
creighton0123 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 1. Don't communicate via text message. It is shallow and dismissive. If you want to talk to him, pick up the phone, call him, and leave a voicemail if you get his machine. 2. I'd say that you shouldn't focus on a long distance relationship/monogamy/etc. etc. There was a connection between the two of you one. When (and if) he moves near you in February, you can see if it is still there at that time.

It's a very good sign (and a sweet gesture) that he calls after a text. Follow creighton's good advice above and stay light-hearted.
