BarFly Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 maybe this is more of a pshycology question but it might have something to do with my relationship? i have been with my gf for about 3 years and we live together, i dont have alot of friends and im a bit of a loner, but in some ways i like my "alone time" about once a week i go to a pub or bar by myself to have a few beers and a bite to eat, i go at a time when the place is not very busy and its quiet, i sit at the bar, and i dont sit around and get wasted, i normally only have 2 beers and on occasion three, which dont really even phase me, (meaning i can handle alot of alcohol), i basically just sit and watch the tv or play on my phone, i am not going there in hopes of striking up a conversation with the bartender or anybody else, i kind of just sit alone, but if somebody talks to me first then i will carry on the conversation, im shy by nature, i do this sometimes while my gf is at home, and sometimes when she is busy or at work, but i dont really know why im doing it, i mean i enjoy the food and drinks but maybe deep down i am looking for conversation and i dont know it? my gf is not always excluded from my outings, we do go out for dinners together quite often, but sometimes i enjoy being alone, does this sound strange to anybody?
Emilia Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Nope, wanting space is perfectly normal. Maybe you like being surrounded by people without being forced to make small talk
