ThsAmericanLife Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Treats well means being faithful, and treating a man the way they would want to be treated. It isn't that hard to find a faithful woman. Regarding the other stuff... Well, I'm guessing your friends have expectations set during the 1950's... Still a big problem these days.

Well, I'm guessing your friends have expectations set during the 1950's... Still a big problem these days. So expecting a woman to be faithful and treat a man the way she would want to be treated means they are set in the 1950s? Where did you get that?
ThsAmericanLife Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 So expecting a woman to be faithful and treat a man the way she would want to be treated means they are set in the 1950s? Where did you get that? Ah... when you said 'they'... I thought you meant the your friends.... ie... treat 'them' (him) the way 'they' (he) would want to be treated. So... my apologies.

AHardDaysNight Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I have never had sex. Try 15 years (since I started being interested in girls at age 13!)
Titania22 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 So your options are be a whore or be celibate? Awesome. How about this option? Get a boyfriend. Pair that with men's general tendency not to date women their own age... then all a decent woman is left with are little boys trying to get their 'learn on' or geezers who think they are entitled to someone much younger. ...or, like in me and Iris' case... being the OW for a married man our own age.. That's what we have to pick from. ThsAmericanLife summed it up perfectly. Wanting a boyfriend and actually being able to find a boyfriend are 2 completely different things. And it gets all the more impossible when we get near 40. I know tons of men who don't fit any of the descriptions. . Hey Woggle, can you throw some of these men my way? How do they feel about women almost 40yrs old who live in Australia?
ThsAmericanLife Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 So your options are be a whore or be celibate? Awesome. How about this option? Get a boyfriend. I'm betting a whole lot of people would agree with me... that the world would be a MUCH better place if you chose to be celibate, Mr. Nightmare Merchant. We already know you are a whore. Not a very good one either, from the sound of it. A good whore leaves their customers happy. You? not so much... eh?
Ruby Slippers Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 A good whore leaves their customers happy. You? not so much... eh? Ouch. The truth hurts!
Author iris219 Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 ThsAmericanLife summed it up perfectly. Wanting a boyfriend and actually being able to find a boyfriend are 2 completely different things. And it gets all the more impossible when we get near 40. Oh gosh. Don't tell me that! I thought it would get easier as I got older. I figured by the time I'm 40, there will be a wave of divorcees. I'm patiently waiting for marriages to fail so that I actually have a chance at finding someone. I know tons of men who don't fit any of the descriptions. They are clean, have good jobs and are good guys but can't seem to find a woman to save their life. I swear, Woggle, I wish you could come hang out with me and see what I have to work with so you'd understand how bad it is. I ask everyone I know if they have single guy friends my age and they never do (or rarely they do, but tell me all the reasons why I wouldn't want the guy).
ThsAmericanLife Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Ouch. The truth hurts! all this talk about moving to Europe and Holland has me thinking of Amsterdam, where prostitution is legal. Maybe we can start a travel fund for these frustrated dudes here (heck, I'm betting they have some darned good gigalos too!) Hope all is well with you! Love your new Avatar. I'm a vintage movie buff too! If I could be reincarnated, I'd be Katherine Hepburn. Love her style! Or Marlene Dietrich. Another bad *ss.

I don't know where you live but I know plenty of good men who struggle with women. On the other hand I know many scumbags who fit all the bad qualities listed who can have their pick of women.

I'm patiently waiting for the wives of my favorite married male friends to die of some bizarre disease, cheat, or have some kind of nervous breakdown. (not really, but you catch my drift!)
Ruby Slippers Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (heck, I'm betting they have some darned good gigalos too!) In the depths of my no-sex sadness, I wondered if we're to the point yet when a woman can hire a man for stud and cuddle services. Thankfully, I haven't had to go that route yet.
Dust Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I’m 27 and very much enjoy younger women, but I’ve seen plenty of pretty women in their 40’s. So when I’m 40 myself I really don’t see a problem dating them if I was single. But yes younger women would be part of my dating pool.
laotzu Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I'm a tall, attractive guy in my late twenties, with a good job, a dislike of reality television, in great shape - and I've been sexless for five months. I could have had sex with a couple of girls, but I know I wasn't attracted enough to them for anything too long term. My suggestion for you: just make it more obvious what you're looking for. I don't mean, of course, being salacious, but rather just being open and friendly. Does your area have co-ed sports organizations, such as kickball or softball? If you're an attractive, single girl and get involved in some organizations like this, you'll have guys like me asking you out. Most even partially aggressive guys will ask a girl out if she just casually indicates that she's single. ThisAmericanLife - I wish I could meet someone who liked that show! You should check out the two seasons they did on television, if you haven't already. Anyway, what I see on the guy end: most of the single girls aren't that attractive, mostly because they're in terrible shape. Or often, they smoke. I'd rather be celibate than to have sex with people I'm not attracted to, which I suppose is the theme of the thread. I guess we just need to wait for serendipitous timing... there's gotta be a great person out there with a relationship ready to fail. Here's to hoping!
