Imajerk17 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 (edited) Maybe I need to learn some new tricks. Met a girl Sunday afternoon in a coffee shop (she drove from an hour away to visit her sister), we ended up hanging out for a few hours. I walked her to her car (she was to drive the hour home), we kissed and she gave me her number. I called her yesterday evening, 24 hours later. I recognize there's a possibility I won't hear from her again. I'm wondering if I made 2 faux paus: (1) I didn't text her after that night to make sure she made it home safely. I instead called her the next night as I told her I would. (2) After we got to her car, she offered to drive me to my car. I told her I would be fine walking. (She was from out of town, and I didn't feel like navigating her to my car.) In my defense, I did give her my last name. So did I blow it with (1) and (2)? I'm kind of "old-school" and I am still used to the "old days" where you *call* when you get a girl's number. Edited September 6, 2011 by Imajerk17
jolbell Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 How did the date itself go? I could give you the female perspective- if she laughed a lot and genuinely seemed interested in talking to you, instead of leaving for the hour-long trip to 'avoid traffic' then I would assume she had a good time. How did she respond after the kiss? I think #1 would've been nice but def. not a deal-breaker since you called the next day. #2 is no biggie at all (I think. For me.) I'll also assume she came to town for the holiday weekend? If so, then she is probably unpacking, cleaning, catching up with work, etc. Hopefully she will get back to you tonight after the workday.
GG3 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I'm confused. Did she not call back or something? I don't think you did anything wrong.
Emilia Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 A call is worth 10 texts. She won't care that turned down the lift. Relax
Imageiko Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 #1 is something that I've started doing recently and I think it's important. No idea why it never crossed my mind before but I don't think it's a really huge deal if you didn't. #2 doesn't seem like a big deal at all.
