madjac74 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I wouldn't say that there was anything remotely troll like about you. You make me laugh out loud though which is all good! Ok good. I actually wondered if people really "lol" and thats mostly why I come on here. To help sort through the load of **** that is life
joeyanna Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Ok good. I actually wondered if people really "lol" and thats mostly why I come on here. To help sort through the load of **** that is life Well not everyone has the knack to make people 'lol' but you certainly have that affect on me. I hear ya on the second point, life does certainly like to throw out the occasional curve ball and its nice to know that there are other people out there willing to listen and share their experiences (and make us laugh in the face of adversity)!
Author Shaun-Dro Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 I bet that there are women who cannot get the type of man they want because of their tattoos. However, those women probably rationalize the rejection as being for some reason other than the tattoos. Agree wholly with this! They will try to rationalize anything but the reality of why men are not approaching them, rather than accept that it's their own damn fault for tacking on that unfeminine body art.
OriginalPenguin Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I am not sure there could be a more pointless thread; it's like saying this: Blond hair = total turn off It is purely subjective. ( I do not endorse this opinion )
Forever Learning Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I respect their right to tattoo themselves from head to toe til the cows come home. For God's sakes just don't tattoo the cows too. And yes, I have seen some utterly beautiful tattoos Tell me you laughed when you wrote that! Seriously!!! I udderly did laugh baby..... so hard the chocolate milk came out my nose. Of course that might have been my Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy acting up again, i dunno.
dasein Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 A self portrait will suffice Did you mean to say simply "portrait?" You do know what a "self-portrait" is, right? Irony keeps me coming back to LS.
Woggle Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Even I am getting disgusted by the misogyny in this thread and that says a lot. If you are not into people with tattoos then no big deal because people are attracted to what they are attracted to but you don't have to put then down as if they are lower forms of life.

mr.dream merchant Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I don't mind tattoos on a woman as long as she doesn't have 6+, I personally think its a bit excessive and steals away from the "purity" of one's body. If I had to choose between a woman with tattoos and a woman without, I'd go for the latter (assuming they are both lovely and curvacious women). Generally speaking but I've always associated tattoos with traits like wild, unfaithly, party animal, promiscuous, conformist, etc. At one point in time I was close to getting a very meaningful tattoo but then I concvinced myself that anything so meaningful should be kept dear to me in my mind, being the limitless canvas it already is.....not on display for the world to see.
xoxoDaniellexoxo Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 it's actually your name on my left ass cheek:love: Haha can I be on the right?!?! jk! I like certain tattoos, I agree with the whole random ones and obnoxious ones I don't like. I still don't get the Marlyn tat on Megan Fox, if I ever had to get one it would be something like a quote that me uncle or grandpa used to say since they passed away. I don't think it would be big either cause, one I am short so that makes it less space, and I don't do well with needles coming towards me lol. I think if I were ever to get one it would be "Hold hands not grudges" My uncle used to tell me that ALL the time and now I have come to appriciate it.
grkBoy Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I think it depends on what the girl does and how she carries herself. One or two in certain spots that flatters her perhaps or gives her a unique sense of style I can fathom...if she's working on sleeves and does a lot of the "biker"/"hard rock" look, then I'll simply say she's not for me. I usually tell men and women to be careful with inking...just to think about the working world and if they'll end up in workplaces where people look down on it...or are they prepared to wear covering clothing all the time to work.

I think that the only trouble would be visible tattoos for work, though I know a friend who is a nurse and she has one on her wrist that she used to cover with concealer but now just leaves it, she says it gives paitents something to talk about and take their mind off a shot, ect. I have to say that only person with 'sleeves' I have ever found hot was Adam Levine!!! He is a FINE man!! Lol but I really wouldn't not date someone because of tattoos.
Mme. Chaucer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 It's already been well established here on LS (among those of us who aren't totally emotionally / mentally / socially crippled, anyway) that being aesthetically nonplussed by tattoos is within anybody's rights. Who says we have to like somebody who has physical characteristics that turn us off? And that attributing a whole slew of attributes to somebody who has such characteristics, even if they are by choice, shows a high degree of prejudicial thinking. Yes, I have a tattoo. I know lots of cool people who have them. I know some cool people with unfortunate tattoos, I know some cool people with really amazing tattoos, I know some kind of loserly people with some fabulous tattoos, and I have seen a lot of people who look pretty skanky (both genders) who are showing tattoos of all sorts. I will say that this: Quote: Originally Posted by Chicago_Guy I bet that there are women who cannot get the type of man they want because of their tattoos. If a person is horrified by tattoos - they are probably not the kind of person we would be very interested in.
dasein Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Dude, there is no way out - that guy totally pwned you. Not surprised you don't know what a self-portrait is somehow. As far as "pwned" goes, you are dating yourself circa 2002. Maybe try "all your base are belong to us" to bring yourself up to at least 2003 speed next time.
OliveOyl Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 This whole thread reminds me of the children's book by Dr. Seuss.. the "Star-Bellied Sneetches." Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars. The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars. Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small. You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all. But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches Would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.” With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort “We’ll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly sort!” And, whenever they met some, when they were out walking, They’d hike right on past them without even talking. [snip] “Belly stars are no longer in style”, said McBean. “What you need is a trip through my Star-Off Machine. This wondrous contraption will take OFF your stars so you won’t look like Sneetches that have them on thars.” And that handy machine working very precisely Removed all the stars from their tummies quite nicely. Then, with snoots in the air, they paraded about. And they opened their beaks and they let out a shout, “We know who is who! Now there Isn’t a doubt. The best kind of Sneetches are Sneetches without!” I've always loved this Dr. Seuss book!

I was more thinking in the corporate world. I notice the higher up on the ladder I go, the less likely I'll see visible tattoos on those in those spots. In terms of dating though, like I said, it depends on the girl and what I think of her.
xoxoDaniellexoxo Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 There's plenty of room on that side actually. You say the sweetest things!! My heart just went all a flutter!!
sally4sara Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Men generally assume that a woman with tattoos has low impulse control. It may or may not be true, but that is the general assumption. Maybe some guys think that tattoos are attractive, but a lot of men find them repulsive. Women who get tattoos are practically ensuring that a certain segment of the male population will never take them seriously. So the women who get tattoos are either unaware of how unattractive a lot of men find them, or the women just don't care because they assume that they will be able to find a guy who does like tattoos. Correction: You generally assume this about a woman with tattoos. You are not a spokesperson. Yes, someone you would not date can still find someone who will. Isn't that how all interpersonal relations work? I don't often read thread titles like "How did I end up dating the sum of all my dislikes AGAIN?" so I figure tattoos to be the same deal. A woman who really digs body mods and has a bunch of them probably isn't going for Mr. Cleancut Dockers Straightlaced III and I highly doubt she would stress over him not finder her to be his type either. While I have no negative opinion of tattoos or people with tattoos, I do see them as accessories of a chosen image albeit a rather permanent accessory. Like the Goth requires lots of black Victorian styled clothing to advertise their taste and personality and the Guido requires all that goes with the GTL lifestyle advertising they need to snare themselves a Guidette. Tattoos are really just a way to let other people who enjoy tattoos know they found one of their own. Of course not everyone of any clique is hardcore about finding one of their own kind. After coming up on 20 years of adult relations, I have to say attitudes like this is all a bunch of BS. My dating experience as a tattooed, pierced, promiscuous, divorced, single mother, feminist has taught me that none of the big talk I read on here about what women any of you would or wouldn't deign to date goes right out the window IRL.
xoxoDaniellexoxo Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 There's plenty more where that came from girl Oh how I adore flattery!! You can keep those coming!
xoxoDaniellexoxo Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I've only drawn one conclusion from this thread. Shaun Dro just likes getting a rise out of people. And that I find Adam Levine hot!! Lol!!
Duckduckgoose Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Well, if you don't like tattoos and piercings don't get them. And if you don't like a partner with tattoos or piercings, don't be with them. I have one tattoo, about 5 inches long on my right leg. My ears are also pierced twice in the lobes, and 3 times in the cartilage. I'm a chick. Most of the people I work with have tattoos. They are not scum by any means. One of them is a BEAUTIFUL woman with 4 lovely daughters whose husband owns a tattoo shop. She has a lot of tattoos (go figure). None of these people are low class, rejecting femininity, wearing their masculinity on their sleeve or whatever else has been thrown around concerning people with ink. Are there some people with tattoos like that? Well yeah. There are people WITHOUT tattoos like that too. As for women with tattoos having no impulse control? Well it took me several years to decide on a tattoo I wanted. I didn't just do it overnight... I'd been wanting one since I was 19. I was 27 when I got it done.
mr.dream merchant Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Tattoos make a woman look like trash. Sorry. :/ Doesn't necessarily mean she IS trash, she just looks to be that way. But eh, women are known for wearing a whore's uniform then getting catty with you when you assume she is one. In the words of Dave Chappelle "Well take that **** off then! You're confusing me."
Easyguy14 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I've only drawn one conclusion from this thread. Shaun Dro just likes getting a rise out of people. yep I agree with this lol. he is a controversial but intelligent guy that just speaks his mind but in a raw tone I guess you could say? my opinion on it is that I find tattoos tasteless when worn poorly or overdone. other than that, its an interesting work of art. I sport one myself on my bicep
