Spoken like someone who doesn't travel or doesn't enjoy it. Going to a foreign land isn't just about seeing a place you've never seen.
Agreed. To me traveling is about being completly immersed in the culture. I'll never forget going to Mexico for years when I was a teen it was amazing how different the culture was from the USA I loved it. Even walking down the streets felt special and unique, I had loved the culture and started learning the language and fell in love with the art, the buildings, the people. My mom and me would find little Cantinas and sit and listen to the music and eat chips. It was the first time I learned to actually salsa, and mambo when I was 16 it was an amazing feeling learning something straight from the source and getting to experience unique elements of cultures. That's why I love traveling.
I completely understand living in different places; I don't get wanting to go for a week or two. I moved around a lot in my teens and twenties until I found a place I wanted to settle down. Admittedly, I'm much more interested in America than other countries, but I'm sure that's because I'm first generation American. My parents made incredible sacrifices to get here and I'm somewhat obsessed with America and what it means to be an American, and I'm still learning new stuff every day.

That, plus I don't have any cravings for foreign sperm.

Oh....how did I forget? the White Tower of London... Walking through a building where man met their final dooms. Torture chambers and executions. A place few escaped or were allowed to escape and nowadays you can walk through it free and clear.

It's not exactly free (more like $30), but the price of admission usually allows you to leave when you've seen enough. :)

I have noticed that a lot of professional-type women who are early 30s or older seem to have an obsession with traveling. I don't really understand this obsession. I am a professional myself but I see no need to take 3 or 4 vacations a year. A lot of women on eHarmony and probably also on other dating websites even mention that traveling is their biggest passion in life.

Be careful with those. Seen several who racked up mountains of debt, more or less thinking they don't have to save for anything and should "live for the moment"...then marry into better money to help pay it off.

Unfortunately for them their debt becomes a turnoff for many guys.

I travel ofen. I make it a priority. I also try to take my daughter with me as often as I can. I enjoy it. I give up other things so that I have the money and the time. Travel for me comes in many different varieties - relaxation is not generally the biggest concern. Its just the exposure to other landscapes , culture, and food. I like the idea of making the entire planet part of my daughter's world. I didnt travel much when I was younger and didnt really see the benefit or need. But since having done so..its been one of the biggest blessings in my life.

If we have agreed not to give onegoal any further attention, because it would only feed his disorder, I think we should all agree not to give Disillusioned any more attention either.

I have no idea what you mean by "we" when you say we have agreed. I can post replies in whatever threads I choose to. Thankfully I can also ignore members as I choose as well. Currently, you are the only one on my list, but I'm sure mine is not the only list you are on.

If it's an addiction, I call it an addiction to life. The world is full of it and life is brief.

I like this phrasing. I believe I share your addiction, carhill. There is nothing quite like being there.

When a male and female eagle make love, they rise to great height, they then clench their claws into each other's (claws), once they are interlocked they let themselves drop into free fall and make love during that free fall. And just before they would collapse to their deaths onto the ground, they release each other.

I hope she has an orgasm faster than the average female human or she's toast.

Loved your photos Nexus. Did you take the series with the boat? Did you go to the Swiss Alps? I went to Megève in the French Alps in the summer and it was gorgeous like your photos. Even got to pet a calf in a meadow. The cows charged me a little and freaked me out. The raclette was aMAAAAzing. This thread has me jonesing to go someplace new. :)

:p You're terrible. Personally I couldn't do that while traveling for several reasons. Although that smoking hot 26 year old French Canadian in Costa Rica did get a kiss.

.... and this is one of the more palatable threads

An interesting fact I learned; When a male and female eagle make love, they rise to great height, they then clench their claws into each other's (claws), once they are interlocked they let themselves drop into free fall and make love during that free fall. And just before they would collapse to their deaths onto the ground, they release each other.

I watched fishing eagles in Zambia do just that. They twirl fast towards the ground and let go. A friend was driving in a national park in one of those 4x4s and we missed a lion lying by the road because we were captivated by those eagles. One of the most beautiful mating images I have ever seen.
