watermelonjuice Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 What's appropriate to wear on a first date on a weekday? I was thinking of something strapless (nice dress or bodysuit) but would it be trying too hard? Or would work attire (work dress) be better? Now I'm hoping I don't disappoint, real life versus photo.
SmileFace Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Clothes ...something you are comfortable in. If you dress up regular , dress up If you don't, don't Just be yourself. Abodysuit, strapless?? really"?
dasein Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Depends on what the date is and local standards, wouldn't think poorly of a woman (for example trying too hard) for wearing a strapless top on many types of dates, especially if you will be outside in a warm climate. If you have a nice neck, arms, shoulders, collarbone, etc., why not accentuate it? Wouldn't think it any different from wearing a short skirt to show off nice legs. Not sure what a bodysuit means today, but it sounds more risky for a first date.
Author watermelonjuice Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Point taken. I thought of the strapless because that's what I usually wear (not slutty though) though I did think it might not be appropriate so I asked.
sm1tten Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 My workplace is casual, so I usually wear something a bit above that - jeans with heels and a nicer top. I think a strapless shirt/dress is more of a weekend thing but it really depends on how casual you are. Bodysuit (basically it's a leotard) might be okay, depending on what you pair it with, although personally I hate the look. What I'm thinking is that if you are on a date during the week, most likely both people are coming from work, so no need to go all out. Save it for date two.

If it isn't out of ordinary for you, why the hell not? I gotta admit, strapless on a nice body is pretty distracting, erm, or rather focusing... erm, screw it, you probably have pretty good idea, what I mean now.
alphamale Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 just make sure you wear some nice heels, guys like that....and don't go all psycho with the makeup
simpsonic Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I don't know about a bodysuit, but I'd wear a nice top and jeans.
Author watermelonjuice Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 Work wear it is then. Hopefully he doesn't get disappointed when he meets me. A friend pointed out that there's something different between a photo and me in real life that she can't put her finger on. Though she said it's not that either was better or worse than the other. Now I'm freaking out a little!
