PSG Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 So we broke up about a year ago because he cheated on me and managed to stay friends. Seeing each other and talking a lot but nothing intimate. The OW didn't live here in the US but is here just for the fall. He and I both returned from being out of town and apart for most of the summer but things went back to our normal friendship routine (with him contacting me more that I contacted him). Sooo why do I need advice - we had casual dinner plans for Friday and I called him from the grocery to see what we needed. He answered, was very grumpy, and said "don't count on me for dinner tonight..I am swamped here (at work). I asked him if he was okay and he said "just busy ...I will call you later". Here is it Sunday and no phone call/email nothing. If he had plans with her on Friday I can't imagine why he would have made plans with me?? I just don't understand we go from being on friendly terms to him not speaking to me at all???? Do I call him? It was almost as if he was mad at me? I just don't understand.
Nohbody Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Now we get into the sticky situation of friendship after a relationship, especially when infidelity was involved. My advice is to chill out and see if he makes contact (and apologizes for being a douche to you). If not... he's not being a very good friend, is he?
Author PSG Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 It is just so strange. Even after the breakup (and after an initial three - four weeks of no contact) we speak everyday (when in town). He always calls me in the morning on his way to work...in the afternoon....then at night. I do not want to date him again but don't understand the complete NC all of a sudden.
Author PSG Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 So here it is on Monday and he still hasn't called. I am sick to my stomach and still not sure if I should call him. I don't expect him to report his every move to me but he was so strange on the phone Friday. I will eventually have to see him for work and such (not on a daily basis but we will eventually attend the same meetings) and I don't want it to be awkward. What to do???
