they give all sorts of disclaimers. that's why the dentist asks if you're a heart patient, despite there being no way that the dentist can give you a heart attack.

The dentist can't "give you a heart attack," but dental work can cause bacterial endocarditis, so patients who have certain heart conditions or certain histories need to take antibiotics prior to dental work as a precaution.

This is why you shouldn't take medical advice from the internet. If your doctors inform you of a risk, listen to them and make an informed decision.

I sure did, and it's one that needs elaboration.

I have a sneaky suspicion you've seen a bubble butt before...

okay, okay... I admit I like to get you going a little... a girl with mangled, on pointe toenails and a 'flat' chest needs an ego boost every once in awhile too :p

Thanks for being a good sport!

Getting things back on track though... when I was about 20, I was in SoCal wearing a tight little mini skirt...

Some guy drove by in his car and yelled out "Is THAT a silicone butt??"

OMG... I had no idea that existed. But to this day, I still get a giggle out of that.

Now that I think about it... getting a silicone butt sounds pretty ridiculous, but why doesn't getting silicone breasts sound equally ridiculous if they aren't necessary for medical reasons of some kind??

I appreciate all of the comments about preference (or lack of). I'm sure they will feel reassured.

I'm not sure how I want to 'advise' my friend and sister. Those same body issues haven't gone away... and whether they choose to keep or remove them is probably irrelevant in the big scheme of things when it comes to that.

On one hand, removing them would be the best for both of them for health reasons. And the sooner they do it, the better chance they have of the skin bouncing back to some extent. They could also wait until their design life is passed, and choose not to replace them. That is another option.

Either way involves another surgery.

Alright, it looks like this thread needs a professional boob observer. I will temporarily volunteer for this job, but don't expect me to do this every time you women need some guy to figure out if your tits look good or not.

If you're wondering what my qualifications are, they include:

(1) Every girl I meet, I regularly look at their boobs

(2) Even when away from the office (not around boobs), I still take some time out of my day to look at them online

(3) For the last several years, I have also had whats known in guy terms as "boobs on the mind". This is an affliction that effects many guys around the world. It involves constantly thinking about boobs because we super like them.

(4) I have hands-on experience with boobs. In the last 10 years or so I have been actively engaged in acquiring more hands on experience. This has involved other seemingly unrelated activities that include - (1) flirting (2) getting phone numbers (3) giving compliments (4) reassuring others (5) winking (6) drinking (7) and nodding.

If you want to know more about how qualified I am, you are going to have to post some ****ing boobs cause this is bull****!

Your friend can replace the silicone with saline implants which are safer. A woman would have to be crazy to use silicone after the huge scandal and lawsuit years ago. Do you really trust Dow Chemical to say the new ones are safe?

They are constantly improving all medical devices every year, as well as the techniques. The ones that are placed underneath the muscle look very natural and supposedly feel more natural than the ones above the muscle. If a woman has low body fat, like most fitness instructors, they should have them below the muscle to avoid the Victoria Beckham grapefruit look.

I personally don't care what people do to or with their bodies. My only complaint with plastic surgery is that it is so damned expensive that I can't afford it. I wouldn't have a problem being an 80-year old with perfect breasts. ;)

There are plenty of gentlemen who will gladly volunteer to do it the check up manually though... especially for breasts like yours, dear Danielle

HAHAHAHA!!! You just made me laugh so hard my roomie woke up :lmao:.

And I love the part about manually checking!! As if that isn't awkward at the doctor's, I love when they make small talk and I am just like you are touching and poking my boobs how about we talk later when I am dressed!! Maybe I just need a hot 26yr old McDreamy doctor instead of someone who could be my grandfather.

HAHAHAHA OMG!!! I want someone to wear this on Halloween this year, I will tell my guy friend to wear it!!! He hangs out with enough drunk girls they will take him up on the offer!!!

Can we petition a mod to add (all posts have to have pictures of breasts) added to the title of the thread. I feel like people aren't involved enough in the (very) important visual side of boobs.

I think it would be a public service to teach men how to do breast exams on their girlfriends as well as teach women how to do testicular exams on their boyfriends. Younger men have a high rate of testicular cancer. Fun for all!

I love how he's wearing scrubs too. Basically a mini clinic :)

Sounds like a great idea.

Fun and educational!

Though actually teaching it in class would be interesting.

"Ok kids, everybody pair up and strip."

BTW, Danielle, stop calling yourself a midget when you have 36D's. You're "tall" where it counts

Now that I'm older, the temptation for Botox and other types of plastic surgery have reared its ugly head. These closeups of over 40 female movie stars with flawless skin are total BS. You see them in other paparazzi images, and you see the 'real' them. Lines and everything. I can't really blame them for wanting to do it though.. if one's career is on the line, it is hard to say no.

It is just as fake as the airbrushed body image manipulation we women had to deal with when we are younger.

I work with Photoshop every day. It's amazing how easy it is to make someone skinnier in some areas, and get rid of blemishes.

I would honestly tell women all over that they need to work really hard at ignoring the images media constantly throws at them. If you look at most men out there, they aren't holding to such shallow standards as the media makes men out to be.

You can look at six guys oogling a model on the cover of a magazine, but it doesn't mean they will ignore all "average Janes" who come along. For us, it's just that...oogling. A temporary moment of fantasy where they imaging that girl mostly as a sexual partner. They don't think about her as a girlfriend, wife, companion, etc. You take an average Jane and do her hair/makeup, put on some sexy lingerie...and the same six guys will oogle her the way they did the model.

What's the point? The point is men are not as shallow as the media makes women believe. There are SOME men who are very shallow and want the perfect looking woman, but they are a tiny sliver of the total populace. The only things I've seen most guys lament on, meaning a physical turnoff in women, is obesity and when women chop their hair off into a "guy cut".

If anything, I think women are more picky on physical things. I've seen way more women nitpick on every little thing in a man's appearance. His face, body, if he has hair, how he wears it, clothing, etc. I'm not saying this to attack women in general, but I also believe the same media voices that keep telling women they're ugly, fat, and undesirable have also told them the message of "most men are ugly and undesirable, hold out for the best of the best...you deserve it"

From what you tell me of yourself, I'd more than likely would find you attractive...even if you didn't have implants. The physical insecurity thing can be a turnoff (but it's normal in everyone to be a little insecure), but the fact you portray yourself as a smart, sophisticated woman who takes care of herself does make you appear desirable...even if it's only in words.

Trust me...you women put more pressure on yourselves than men ever will. We never ask for women to be perfect in physical looks, we more ask them to not go 180 and become Quasimodo, and for them to have a heart of gold, be down to Earth, and not insanely judgmental or "control freak" on everything.

Breast size has never really been important to me.

That being said, however, do whatever is good for your health. If that is getting the implants removed, then so be it.

Thank you very much :) If you met me, you'd see those insecurities are mostly internal. I don't even wear makeup half the time... and certainly isn't something I obsess about. I think getting off of OLD was also a good step in that direction too.

Have a question for you though...

Kind of going back to the other thread talking about "The Myth of the Right Person"... isn't there a teensy-weensy part of you that is bummed your wife/girlfriend doesn't look like that?

Is it possible, even for a second, that looking at those images (depending on frequency) leads some men to believe or expect women to adhere to them? There are at least 2-3 posters here who seem to believe it does.

The models in these magazines truly are freaks of nature. Who knows... maybe something like 0.001% of the population looks like that (thats my SWAG...don't quote me on it!). Think about it. Even with all the extra help they get from technology, they are so far outside the realm of 'normal' it isn't even funny.

I still believe that when there are enough of these images around, it skews the impression of what is 'normal'... either consciously or unconsciously. If all we had to go on was the people we saw around us in our day-to-day world, alot of these insecurities wouldn't exist.
