Well, I'm 41,

So would this be an appropriate point to inject some balance into the thread and say that older women are hot, too? ;)

Older guys have cars instead of scooters.

I actually want a scooter! :p

I saw them all over Europe, and loved it.

This would be an appropriate time!:p

When I go out with my HS school friends- 2 are married with kids. the other is married without kids, and the other is single me no kids. The 2 with children are haggard and have let themselves go big time (tons of weight gain and letting the grey hair take over). One girl, a girl that most considered to be one of the hottest girls in our HS had her kids, chopped off her hair in a manner that makes her look like she's ready to enter the army as a male, and has put on 80lbs. The two of us without children still pay attention to fashion, grooming, weight, etc.

I am 38 in my avatar and 39 in the other pic- but shhhh, I do use botox (in moderation):cool:

I'd be open to dating an older man, but at my age I find men 45-50 have a completely different outlook on life. Wealth doesn't attract me and I don't need the security because I already have it. The older men I've met have usually had too many obligations to their ex wive's and kids- which is fine, but not my thing.

I think when you're younger- in your early 20's, it's different- older men (say under 30) can be attractive because of their stability and maturity.

So are you a puma or a cougar? :p

I'm probably a cougar I guess.

What is the difference?

I've never in my life (over the age of 25) chased after a guy, and the term "cougar" seems to be associated with being aggressive in chasing younger men- I have never done that. They seek me out and I decide to engage or not.

IDK I think cougars have hairy vaginas. Haha jk jk! I think a cougar is in her 40's and a Puma in her 30's. I imagine 50's must be a sabre tooth tiger :D

Oh... That's weird. I haven't had one hair on my body since probably 2005.

I guess I am a cougar then- minis the hairy vagina and aggressive pursuit.

Guys in their 40's seeking much younger women- we call "Manthers""

I actually used to be incredibly creeped out by the mere idea of dating someone even a year or two older than me. Since I started dating 5 years ago, however, I have almost exclusively dated guys 1 or more years older. It wasn't deliberate; it was just that way. My BF is 30 to my 24 years.

I don't think there's anything particularly attractive about older guys. The oldest guys I've dated didn't even look their age; they looked much closer to my age.

It's been my experience that something happens to a women in their late twenties. I suspect it has to do with the ticking clock and usually they are on starting on the downside of their looks.

Where do you live -- in the boondocks? I threw my biological clock out of the window. Women in large metropolitan areas look better and better with time. We know and use all the movie stars' tricks. ;) Perhaps it also has to do with education and economic class.

I'm finding that when a man in his 50s has young children, it's usually the result of a second or third marriage. Not a good dating risk. I'm looking for someone with no kids or whose kids are self-supporting. Less drama at home.

We have much bigger wallets.

I don't know, I kinda take offense tpmthis. I'm 42, and the girl I'm seeing is 24. It wasn't a deliberate thing, me seeking out a significantly younger woman, it just happened that way. The age difference has never been an issue for us, why should it be a problem fr anyone else, or a subject of ridicule?
