BookerT Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I just wrote a relationship self help book for women, explaining how men think, the games we play, how to avoid *******s and how to attract decent men. You can get it off amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Lifes-Too-Short-Date-Like/dp/1462042732/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314871127&sr=8-1 I'm just posting this because I used to visit this forum a lot about 3 years ago. Hope everyone's doing well!
Cee Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 That's interesting you wrote a book. Were you inspired by Love Shack in writing your book? Did you gain inspiration from the site? What was the writing and publishing process like? I have a friend who just finished writing a book and it sounds like an emotional and difficult process.
Author BookerT Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Yeah, there was some good advice from here which I put into the book. None of the stories in the book came from members here, but from my female friends, or my experiences. Getting published the first time is a pain in the butt. It's like finding a good job fresh out of college without work experience in the current job market. Traditional publishers will not accept manuscripts from first time writers, but after writing to 20 agents I decided to self publish. You can self publish with Amazon.com's createspace or with companies like www.iuniverse.com but both process cost money depending on what level of service you want. Editing for example cost me $1500 USD.
