I am not trying to disrespect Christians, there is a dogma in fundamental Christianity that makes it really intolerant of people who believe differently. I think at 40 you should have probably done more research into her religion before getting involved with her. I made the mistake of believing love could prevail , but i was in my early 20s at the time... and believe me, i took really harshly.... I remember.. i no longer saw the world the same way i did before after that.... AGAIN ... i am not dogging Christianity, but i have also noticed that most people that participate in fundamental christian churches are really really damaged. I have no idea what it is, but they have this mentality that if i love god, do what the bible says, it will remove all the uncertainty from my life. I think that if you dont walk away now, you will have a real problem later on. I am sorry, but i have seen it happen too many times with fundamentalist. I really think that they are the only exception to the rule when it comes to faith difference. I have a cousin that married a fundamentalist. they have been married for about 20 years now.. .. last time i visited... i realized how miserable they really were... they were just there for the kids. THEY DON'T EVEN SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM.... how is that a marriage... you tell me.. and it has all been because of religion.. His family doesn't like the fact that the kids were raised catholic, and so they constantly bother him about that.. she wants them raised catholic.. YADA YADA YADA ..... really petty and pointless things if they pulled back and saw the big picture that its been making them misreble for the past 10 years or so.. its sad really. btw ..... you should do some research into something called borderline personality disorder..... as this behaivor sounds very very very familar to me Good luck.
