I think you need to dump your friend. What terrible advice. *shakes head*

There's no point in beating yourself up now, but it was fairly obvious when he lost touch after the first date that he wasn't that interested in you. You were grasping at straws, trying to twist his words into something that meant he was interested. If you ever find yourself doing this, it probably means he's not interested. Next time just let him initiate and don't get attached so fast. Your over eagerness probably came across to him, not just in texting but I'd assume also in person. People pick up on that stuff, and desperation is a turn off. I'm sorry this happened to you. Lesson learned.

Wow. I have been making wayyyy too much effort trying to get with girls I really like. This guy reeks of (1) not caring about you (2) 0 effort. If you asked a girl what she looks for in dates, she would say those two things, but he's given you neither of them and you are innnnn loovvveeee. Not sure if (1) and (2) are the reason you are in love, or if it's the ferrari enzo. Meh, whatever.

fwiw this is infatuation, not an actual romance.

Hey now, I mean--after being what she just went through with the military man--I can see why she may be a little OCD about this situation. Finding potential love after heartbreak comes with fear.

However, I think that if you just don't contact him you'll be fine. He'll either come around or in like a couple of months you can text him a be like "How are you adjusting to the city?" or "Hey, how are you?"...I just think he may be a little bamboozled. Hey, don't be too hard on yourself.

Or you can delete his number and if it's meant to be it will find a way.

Also, you should go to thedailylove.com and subscribe.

Best of luck.
