Does rebounding ever work? (its been over 5 months since the split)

Ok, so I've had some luck already with the online dating. Not seen anyone and won't for probably quite some time, but do seem to have a good connection with this one guy.

 

Was just wondering if it is still rebounding after 5 months being single (granted I do still have some feelings for my ex)?

 

Also whether others out there have ever had any luck with any type of rebounding? And if you've tried it and it failed what sort of problems did you encounter?

 

I know I do need more time to get my head around things, so I'm not going to rush into anything will just keep it to casual messaging for now. But I really feel like I have a connection with this guy, and even just as friendly messaging it is helping me see light at the end of the tunnel. But I appreciate that I do need more time before I actively start going on dates or anything like that.

No... I am going to give you some advice from a couple of friends who were rebound and are happily married.

 

Rebounding is fine as long as you take your time, openly communicate and just have fun. 5 months isn't a rebound in my opinion. Both my sets of friends that are married were seriously 1 monthers.

 

One of them told me this, the more you dwell on the past, the more likely you will miss the one who is standing and staring you right in the face.

Yeah I've met this guy online and we have a lot in common. Its been over 5 months since me and my ex split, but I still think about him a lot, although I'm not as sure about my feelings for him anymore. Its strange really.

 

But I'm worried I may be in danger of rebounding. I sent a message to my ex recently and he hasn't replied yet. Just asking him to send me some more of my things that I left at his place. I don't know if he'll send them or not and I'm worried he thinks badly of me since I told him we couldn't be friends. I don't know what to do. Maybe I shouldn't have asked him to send the others things of mine, as they don't matter much. But its too late. I did it now. And I would really like them back.
