Hey, this is really hard for me to do so thanks for your time!

We broke up about 6 months ago, after 3 years and life went crazy, we tried again to fail misserably despite holding on with dear life taking her to nice places and all that comes with it, we just wern't able to co-operate and breaking up, after alot of histerics from me, was innevitable.

At the moment I'm doing all I can, I have my mates and they're the best but they have they're lifes and girlfriends, one being my ex's best friend, and i've been going to the gym every night and cracking on with work but I just can't be happy! I'm never happy! I started a new job just after the break up and they all must think i'm a..dick, I try alot around my friends but just a tiny thing and i've sunk again. It's getting to a point I don't wanna see them or anybody else. Trouble even follows me now, everytime we go out i nearly get in a fight or something. I just want to be happy if not just for myself for my friends and family.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you

Have you considered a counselor? You might consider talking to a mental health professional, be it a doctor or otherwise. It sounds like you might be battling with depression, and that can really take the wind out of your sails.

I think you are doing all the right things, I hope you feel better.

Thank you that means alot

I did go to a counsellor but it kind of knocked me back a step and I found he almost made me feel silly.. My dad booked me a doctors appointment and they referred me to a mental health phsycollogist but my first session isn't untill october. Depression is a word the doctor used, its hard to hear that about yourself.

It's way too common in western society. Sign of the times, I suppose. Don't worry - you are not alone. Counseling can be very difficult initially, but it will pay off big time if you keep it up. I can say this based on my own experience. It's not enough to say 'buck up' or 'chin up'. Try exercising every day. That will increase the presence of a neurotransmitter in your brain (dopamine) that tends to positively affect mood.

Tons of people go through this, so don't feel bad. Just find a good treatment program, and stick with it!

I think i'll give it another shot and stick at it. The last thing I need is to be is "popping pills"

Thank you again!

My day begins and ends with pills. It's not about any personal weakness on your part. Some people respond well to medication. After some time, they might not need it anymore. Everyone is different.

o no i'm really sorry! If ever recommended to me i wouldn't be the sort to say no. If it helps there's no point denying yourself that help.

You don't need to be sorry. It's mostly my own damn fault

The point is, it's just a thing. There's no value attached, save what you decide TO attach. You'll be fine as long as you tackle it head on.
