3 weeks after the break up, my ex's mate added my on facebook and asked me out...

3 weeks after my ex broke up with me, a friend of his added me on facebook. I've met the guy only once through my ex a few months ago and we 3 had dinner together and that was it. I merely even remember the guy when he added me

 

And since then we've being chatting a bit, and today he asked me on fb: not sure if you'll be interested, but there's a festival this Sunday @ xxx

 

What kind of drama is this? I wonder what's going on with this guy, is it that 1. he's asking a mate's ex gf out 3 weeks after they split? 2.he's helping my ex or 3. I am thinking too much

 

And this guy is not one of my ex's closest confidant, but he seems to respect my ex a lot, he had always being asking my ex for relationship advice etc, and told me he thinks my ex a wise guy so I think he can't be so insensitive to ask me out right after; But if he's helping out my ex then wouldn't it seem way too obvious and silly?

 

Ah well I need some advice from outsiders

I think you're putting to much thought into this. If you think he's helping out your ex in some twisted way then decline the invitation. If you think he is being genuine and you like the guy then go for it.

 

Also examine your ethics/morals. do you want to date an ex's friend? would you date a friend's ex? would you feel hurt if your ex dated one of your friends?
