I ordered some textbooks off of ebay - and I thought I'd changed the address back... but I guess one slipped through. I emailed her dad asking him to send me the book (I don't want to have to spend 100 or more dollars for another one). I think I am doing the right thing here and not breaking contact. Right?

If you continue to violate NC, then we have to get into arm balances, inversions and back bends. Those will just about kill ya. But we're here to enforce NC, you know. We do what we have to do.

All these little creeping thoughts... like little hobgoblins on my back are whispering into my ear.....maybe she's been waiting for an excuse.... maybe not all is lossssssssssssst and right as their forked tongues begin to caress the bulb of my ear I tear off my jacket and hurl it into the fire. Most of them scatter with no more damage done than a light singeing... but one or two aren't so lucky. Trapped beneath the heavy material, they begin to burn. Their agonizing death screams bring a wolf smile to my lips.

Sounds like he liked you and figures, since his daughter isn't that much of a hot tamale, you're probably doing great. It's as though he's telling you that you can do better, and must be off and running since he assumes that his daughter is replaceable. So, really, that's my interpretation. Sorry that your take is so cynical. It's all a matter of how you want to look at things. Got it? And you should be doing great. I mean, who wants to be with someone who bails at the first sign of difficulty? Like that's going to get you through thick and thin .... NOT. This is another hurdle for you, get past it, and crack that book open when it arrives. That's more important use of your time and energy. Now go and have yourself a nice day, as that is what I intend to do.

My ex ex had parents that gave him the gift of "retro" appreciation, he grew up with film noir, learning about old radio shows and all that good stuff. As I am a history buff (although not tv and radio, but that would be an awesome course of study) I love everything retro, including old tv shows (who doesn't love "I Love Lucy" ???) These days, Gracie would be spelled "Graycie" -- So let's hear it for good old fashioned comedy, the way our grandparents liked it.

Her dad likes me quite a bit... though he did write to me and tell me that I needed to be "the man she needs me to be" after she dumped me and he found out about it. So yeah. Not taking it out on anyone, just venting. Make a guy feel like a heel, why don't you?
