...when an ex pops back up out of the blue?

My ex of about 3 years dropped a line on me today. We havent spoken in maybe about a year or so, so he wanted to "see how I was doing"

We chatted for a little bit and got to talking about his new niece and the fact that his best friend made him the god father of his baby girl. He then made some crack about my biological clock, and whether or not Ive "caught the fever" yet... He then said that if I needed help with that, that he "knows a guy ;)"

You think exes ever really just contact out of nowhere to see how you are? Or are they usually fishing?

I didnt even think he ever still thought of me.

He is fishing.

Time and distance makes a prior old relation look promising. High school sweethearts fall in love all the time 20 years later.

Yeah he is definitely fishing. If you had met somewhere but coincidence not so much but since he called and made those comments--definitely

Usually it is fishing, but there is always a reason that an ex contacts you even if you don't know it. I remember contacting one of my previous exes when my last relationship ended. I never told her that was the reason, but I just needed to feel better about women that ex usually put me in a good mood.

Exactly - I was just about to say that another reason why ex's usually contact you out of the blue is for an ego boost.
