Is it "inappropiate" for a guy to have his shirt off (when it's a casual setting)?

To be very blunt: I am very proud of my upper body. I love all my muscles and how sexy they feel to me. I workout and I feel it is extremely attractive, I have super broad shoulders, chest, back, and arms and in very good proportion, round-type athletic muscles and nearly 200 pounds of solid muscle... but I also feel it's a healthy appreciation.

And I love not wearing a shirt, it just feels good. And I know girls love looking at my body, it's just positive energy.

So do you guys find it innapropiate for a guy like that to not wear a shirt in the summer a lot when doing something like hanging at his house and it's really hot, or just chilling outside with friends? I love not having my shirt off...

Is it a turn off or on when a guy does this for the simple healthy reason that it just "feels good" to him, not like he's showing off

Ladies I'll post a body shot if you reallly want me to lol just to see what im talking about

Unless he's at the beach, pool, or on a boat, to not have your shirt on, IMO, is obnoxious.

When not in the settings that Star Gazer said, it's Ok to wear and A-shirt if you really want to show off.

Hmmmm well, typically restaurants, stores and the like, have a no shirt/no shoes policy.

Around your house or at your girlfriends house, beach, your car, etc...hey, do what you want.

Yes, let's see the picture. Then I'll tell you how appropriate it is. ;)

I personally prefer men to keep their shirts on, regardless of how they look like underneath it  but it's not a big deal either way.

I think you should take your shirt off as much as possible.

I also bet your FB page has over a hundred photos of yourself. The women need to see some of them.

If i'm at home or around the house I don't wear one. I'm pretty white so I need some color.

At parties with pools i'll usually put a shirt on after we eat if we are all spread out (i spill a lot) or if i'm sitting down at a table i'll put it back on.

Hey, you offered. Women post their pics and attention whore on this site all the time. Let's see some sexy guys doing the same. I'm all for equality.

But to answer your question, I think it's appropriate and very hot for guys to go shirtless when it's hot, they're playing sports, or they're hanging out in the yard or at home. And even if it's not appropriate, who cares, because -- cute shirtless guy, woo hoo! :D

As a guy, please do us all a favor and keep your shirt on. I don't like seeing half naked guys when I go to the store!

Now...girls, you can run around half naked. I wouldn't care about that! :p

Shirt on for this one, please.

I co-sign on that one.

Ruby the OP is in love with himself.

Is that attractive to women? Or are you simply looking at the visual side?

From my side I think it is a rather blue collar, non-college educated thing.

I gladly take my shirt off at the appropriate time, but to do so in any other circumstance is quite vain.

Is that visually attractive? If he's got a great body, sure it is.

AHardDaysNight, this is the thread about topless MEN. If you want a thread for topless women, start your own. I have no interest in that.

I have kind of an offshoot of the OP's problem. In places where it's inappropriate to have your shirt off, I feel pretty uncomfortable showing skin (ex. I would never walk into a restaurant or store shirtless), but when it IS appropriate, I tend to go somewhat overboard.

For example at the beach I'll walk around in just a swimsuit for as long as I can, even when I get off the beach and am walking down the street or something. Been to n#de beaches a few times too and I'm definitely not carrying an anaconda between my legs, but I have no problem walking around n#ked in front of strangers either. Kind of like the OP I have extreme confidence in my appearance and like to show off the work every once in a while, ha.

There are some situations where no shirt is completely appropriate: the beach, for example, possibly playing sports in the hot summer sun.

In your own home you can wear (or not wear) whatever you like without fear of repercussion.

Lets forget the "appropriateness" of shirt on vs shirt off in other settings and just look at what a shirtless guy is advertising to the world around him. No shirt, when walking around your neighborhood, says you like to have people look at your body. You said in your original post that being shirtless "feels good" to you. So be it. But people will judge you for it. What being shirtless means for you may be comfort, but that's not what everyone is going to infer. As physically attractive and fit as you may be, being shirtless means people will assume all sorts of things about you. It can look vain, proud, and self-involved. It projects a "look at me" attitude that is reminiscent of reality t.v., low education, or ignorance of etiquette and social decorum.

If you are comfortable with giving off that vibe, then by all means go for it.

I have a mental image of the guys from the New Jersey area reality show. Maybe the OP has tattoos and the same haircut?

Depends. If you want to be perceived as a major douche it's appropriate and even encouraged.

it sounds like you like having your shirt off because you want girls to see how you look, right?

I suggest keeping your shirt on more, especially around guys, because it just seems strange for the guys around you.

get some tighter shirts if you love your body so much.
