Is it bad that after the butterflies and nervousness is gone that you feel more comfortable around them after getting to know them a few months? You feel like you have a friendship yet a sexual attraction. You don't feel nervous, shy, or butterflies but they still make you laugh and you're happy when you're with them. Is that bad? Does that sound like just a friendship then?

If you have that plus sexual attraction it sounds like a might fine relationship to me.

Yes it's a good relationship. We've been seeing each other for 5 months but just made it official. He makes me laugh and I like being with him but I don't feel head over heels in love...not sure if that's suppose to just grow with time or what.

If you are already slowing down at 5 months you may reach zero in less than two years. I often see this dramatic dropoff in couples that do too much too soon. Be careful, romance needs maintenance and endurance.

Okay, Pierre lol that kinda worries me now that you said that... What do you mean do too much too soon? We've been together 5 months and still haven't had sex or done anything sexually really just kiss. We're 21 and 22.

If you have friendship + sexual attraction, that's great! The butterflies don't last forever,so don't worry about that. I don't think it's a bad thing that you don't feel head over heels in love at 5 months IF it's because you haven't gotten to that point yet. But if you felt head over heels a couple of months ago & it's already started to fizzle out, then that may be a bad sign. But for many people 5 months is too soon to feel like they are in love. It takes time to truly get to know someone and develop those feelings.

I feel like this is a really healthy relationship that I always wanted. It's nice to feel no drama and secure. Thanks "make me believe", I agree...you have to really know that person in and out...good and bad..and still want them to love them. I feel like there's still so much to know about this guy. I feel better

First: Congratulations on not having sex. I am glad you are getting to know each other. You can still mess around and make an intimate connection.

Relationships go up and down , that is normal. Sometimes a few months go by and the relationship ends because the partners were not compatible. This is out of your control.

In any event be good to each other and be truthful. Do whatever is nice to make the other happy. That will keep the flame burning.

What happened to you guys after an infatuation phase is over? How long did it take you to feel like he/she was the one you wanted to spend your life with?

Friendship + sexual attraction = a wonderful relationship. That's exactly what relationships are supposed to be like. The infatuation phase is not meant to last forever. What you're describing sounds perfectly normal.

How long did it take you to feel like he/she was the one you wanted to spend your life with?

A hell of a lot longer than 5 months! You don't go straight from the infatuation stage to the "marry me" stage. There should be a lot of time in between, because you have to get to know someone really well before you decide you want to spend the rest of your life with them. Slow down, there's no rush.

Someone told me that 5 months was enough time to know if there was passion or not and to know everything about them...and I disagreed but it made me question it. They said we moved unusually slow and that something was wrong...I don't know why we move slowbut hey as long as we're moving along right?
