downandout2 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 OK, so I have been dating this girl for a little bit. We got into a fight a few weeks ago, and so she signed up to match.com. After a week of it, she went on a date with a guy, but said there was nothing there, and all she did was think about me, and the reason she went out with him is because he reminded her of me. So we had a long talk about the issues we were having (trust issues), and she said she would delete her profile. All is good, she did. I did look, and it said it was inactive for 2 weeks. I got a bad vibe last night, and looked again, and it said she was active within the last 3 days, but when I click on her profile, it says " Oops, the profile you're looking for is not available." She swears up and down that she deactivated it weeks ago, and never logged in since. So why would it say shes been active within the last 3 days? She says she gets the " daily match" emails in her spam folder, but she says she has never logged in since she deactivated it? So im a little confused as what to believe....HELP!!
thatone Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 active in three days meant she went to the site in the past three days. not available means either she actually deleted it or she blocked anonymous users (or your username if you have one) from viewing it and is still lying to you. do yourself a favor and check the other dating sites while you're at it (okcupid, plentyoffish particularly). make another email address and sign up, complete a profile, add a random google pic of some other dude, etc. to get past the things she can block other people from viewing her for.
Author downandout2 Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 I did, checked them all. She was on plentyoffish, and it says "member canceled their account". Searched all the other sites by zipcode and age, and nothing.

But some reason kept her profile deactivated? Unless she reactivated it, looked around, and then deactivated it again? Or could she be telling the truth and there be a glitch on match.com's end? I want to believe her, but, kinda hard to believe...

Where does it say that, if when you click on her profile, it says the "Ooops, profile no longer unavailable" thing? Are you checking her email account?? Because even if a Match profile is hidden or disabled, the user will still get teaser emails from Match. For forever. Same with POF.

When I click her name to go to her profile, it says "Ooops, profile no longer unavailable". But under my favorites, it says "last activity 3 days ago". When I looked 2 weeks ago, it said "last activity was 2 weeks ago".

I once had someone who had just shown up as "Online now!" and sent me an email, all of a sudden show as having not been active in 3 weeks. Bizarre. Anyway, go try to search for her, outside of your favorites, and see if she appears.

Way too much crap to deal with for someone you havn't been dating that long & someone who's online dating the 2nd you have a blow-up. also that "I went with him because he reminded me of you" is total BS. You should be out looking for higher quality women then wasting your time talking to this chick. You don't trust her & there is nothing without trust.
