robaday Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 The mutual break up I posted about, she came back to me, and we tried to have another go at it. But after a month, I realized she was using me as a booty call and had no intention of commiting. So Ive kicked her to the curb. And Im devastated, but have done what i had to to move on.
smudge21 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 A good, if short post, but makes a valid point. We all want the ex back so much but forget that there's a reason for the break up. Sometimes it takes a second chance to realise that the ex is no longer the person we first met. I mean, when we first meet someone, those rose-tinted glasses of love are on, making us blind to the negatives and just going with the flow of pure emotional happiness. After a break up, we see the cracks and the issues, yet we still pine for them. If we get a second chance, sadly it's never the same as it was in the beginning - it never can be. The glasses were smashed when the relationship ended the first time. I do so much want a second chance with my ex, but deep down I know it wouldn't be the same. That initial magic that I so want back has long gone. She's still the same person, but I just see her clearer without those damn glasses on!
