Went for a drink in a pub. Rather unimaginative but it was a first Internet date. She was incredibly shy so I want to do something a little less intense than sitting there trying to make conversation!

Funny, I've never thought of sitting in a pub as "intense"!

How about an activity she can be actively involved in, like bowling or putt-putt golf?

Neither have I, but she is incredibly shy which made it feel quite tense. I like her though so want to try to help her work through the shyness...

I thought of the putt putt myself but the nearest course is 65 miles away! Might suggest bowling

Ok, something that requires you both to move around and be active, as opposed to sitting around.

Exactly. Something to take the pressure off as she doesn't seem comfortable with chit chat just yet. I can understand how she feels, I've felt like that myself in the past so something that takes the focus off us if you see what I mean! Sounds like the complete opposite of what a date should be about right?but I think I know what I'm doing... Or should I be seeing bright red flags right about now?!!!!

Bowling, go out for ice cream be playful, have a picnic? Sit by the water somewhere? Go see a funny movie?

There's numerous things that you can do, just have to find out what her interests are!

This....bowling, putt-putt, wine tasting & tour, amusement park, etc

Also don't be afraid to get her involved in the planning. Maybe have a few suggestions ready and bounce ideas off of her. I know this is the shy girl you are dealing with so this maybe a good way to get her talking. Also share some fun experiences that you have had doing these activities etc.

These are general date ideas that could be applied to a variety of age groups. If you don't like an idea, just move on:

1. Mini golf

2. Go to a museum (art museum, historical museum, science museum, etc.) Some, especially at universities, do tend to be open a little later on Sundays.

3. Go swimming (this depends on what part of the world you live in...and if you're comfortable with it, obviously)

4. Go-Karting

5. Laser-Tag

6. Picnic

7. Bike-riding through a park

8. Go to a club (not typical Sunday night fare, but you could still try it)

9. Local concert/play (check newspapers/web sites of local theaters, etc.)

10. Go to a festival/carnival/amusement park

11. Dinner and a movie (movie's passive, but at least dinner can give you the chance to talk...)
