Buttercup84 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Has anyone bought any books about break ups ? the day I got paid a week after the break-up I went nuts on Amazon. I bought How to get past your break up It is called a Break up because it is broken The Break up workbook And the five love languages and the Five love languages for singles. The first one is really good , made me feel like **** at first because it brings out all the emotions. She makes you do a 60 day NC , look at if you have past break ups or traumas you didn't deal with and that made the break up worse. She is really good. The " Its called a break up because it is broken " is more fun and by the Author of He is just not that into you. Its up front and corny but helped a bit. I guess with these books it helps to know that your emotions are normal.I thought I was going insane and sure no one would feel like me. Still have to read the other books though.
WindWhisperer Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I have its called a break up because its broken Read it when my previous boyfriend broke up with me 4 years ago. Listen to this Irony. My (current) ex's sister got dumped a month ago and I have her the book. Fan freaking tastic. Its a good book and I also remember that it suggested 60 days. Making a calender of it too. 60 DAYS sounds incredibly long But by the time you reach 60 days you dont feel the need to contact him anymore (hopefully).
Author Buttercup84 Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Oh dear are you still in contact with her ? I know , I made it past four days and yesterday sent him a depressing email. I could kick myself. Tomorrow is Monday so I will start then. Good luck xx
WindWhisperer Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I am. I think ive also left some stuff at his house. And I could ask for it but in a way I feel like its contact and you never know that he might find out and then he thinks it was a way of me getting closer to him
antinko Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I have that first book you mentioned: 'How to Get Past Your Breakup' and I wish I bought it originally when I was dumped! Oh well, it's proving very useful now.
