AmericanHoney Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I went out to dinner with this guy from work and we talked for a long, long time and then the next day I said hey there is this great band playing want to go? He said can't busy with work but he wasn't at work. Why lie and say you are busy with work when clearly you aren't couldn't a simple no thanks worked too?
green_tea Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Maybe he was working from home? Or doing some other type of work? I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he was lying if you two got along as well as you said you did.

Women have no idea how fearful we guys are when it comes to rejecting you because firstly as guys we know firsthand that rejection hurts no matter how many times you get it and secondly, we are taught that women are a lot more sensitive than us so we are afraid to say the truth.
lonelyheartbeat Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I was also thinking that maybe it wasn't that he was at work, but that he had work to do. Errands to run or other things going on. The other thing I was thinking is that yes, maybe he's not interested and he's not wanting to say outright. I would wait a week or so and then try asking him to another event. See what happens. If he passes again with another excuse, then write him off. Or if not write him off, let him make the next move.
