lonelynyc Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I don't typically read too much into things like this, but at around 1:30 AM Panama time, I find myself ruminating over anything and everything related to my ex. I don't know why, I'm just hurting. As anyone who has read some of my most recent posts already knows, my ex started an online dating profile on Monday which really floored me--I couldn't believe how fast she was moving on from me, like I never existed. On further reflection, something is really really confusing me. I didn't notice it at first because I pretty much abhor that type of music, but after typing in the introductory title she posted on her online dating profile into a Google search I found that it's a song by the artist Adele. This song is about a guy ****ing up what might have been between 2 people, and how the girl is going to show him, etc. etc. I pride myself on not being a full-blown narcissist, but I mean, come on... I made mistakes that she never forgave me for 2 years ago (she said that was the reason for our breakup). Do you think this online profile is a manifestation more of her readiness to move on or her desire to hurt me?
Kk47 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Partially to hurt you perhaps , but mainly to protect herself from being in a vulnerable situation. I doubt she's sending you signals through her dating profile, if she wanted you back she wouldn't be on that site.
Orianne Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It's hard to say. Some girls seem to enjoy playing games like that--it's a power trip or something.
Nohbody Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 The human mind evolved sophisticated sensory processing components over billions of years One of these components is dedicated to nothing but the isolation of patterns This is because pattern recognition is a very valuable survival tool If you can make out the pattern of a cheetah in a grassy savanah, you stand a chance of getting away - while the dope who can't is kitty food Unfortunately, there are also false positives. A treestump may LOOK like a cheetah for a moment, and scare away a wiley human ancestor... but it is not a Cheetah it is a stump. Sometimes it's just a stump, and it doesn't matter. What she's doing doesn't matter. Go look for the pussy. God that's dirty. I love it.
