robdrm32 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I've been friends with this girl a few years and lately she has been giving me good signals, so today I called her up and asked her out to a movie tomorrow. She said she couldn't since her friend was coming back and she hasn't seen her in a few weeks. She then said how she might have to think about it because I left her with some annoying old regular that comes into her store the night before. She said it jokingly. I had stopped in to say hi and when he showed up I pretty much made my escape, he's ridiculously annoying. She said a couple times that we will figure something out, so I let her go. The conversation went well we were joking back and forth I just couldn't tell if it was a no as in never or a no not tomorrow but i would like to. I'm thinking next week asking her again, my brother says she is into me that all the signs are there, and i def. see some signs but I can't tell if she is just that friendly. A friend a few months ago also mentioned that he thinks she is smitten with me. Any thoughts?

She has your phone number so she can always call you. I'm not saying don't talk to her anymore but I wouldn't ask again.
Author robdrm32 Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Any reason why you wouldn't ask again? I understand where you are coming from but in the past she has mentioned she enjoys being chased. I feel like her comment that we will figure something out is telling me that I'm going to have to chase a little. and when she said her friend was coming down it was instant. like "ohhh i can't cause XXX is coming back and i haven't seen her." Seems like a legit reason as opposed to an excuse. Had she said "um...well my friend is coming back" I would pick up it was an excuse. Last weekend a friend had a group dinner and she asked me to drive her out the and back to her car, when another person who went is her neighbor and she drives herself so it almost seemed like she made an excuse just to have me drive her.
somedude81 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 so today I called her up and asked her out to a movie tomorrow. Any thoughts? That's your problem. You didn't give her any notice. Call her Monday or Tuesday and invite her to do something with you that coming weekend.

Try again, now just make sure you give her enough of a heads up prior.
youngskywalker Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 You didn't give her any notice. somedude has a good point. if you pick up any book on dating it will always say to never ask a woman out on short notice. next time you ask her give a at least a few days notice and plan a date. she'll want to see that you thought through it and planned something fun and thoughtful.
