Hello:

I have a question and I'm looking into insights as to how to know what is a healthy expectation of communcation after a first date and how to overcome that anxiety.

I had a very good first date on Sunday, guy was a gentleman, drove all the way to the suburbs to pick me up and at the end of the night we hugged and he invited to watch a comedy this Friday.

We met online, so I am very well aware that he is talking to other girls ( as I am talking to guys).. but I am new to this online dating thing and I don't know what expect in terms of messages, phone calls etc..

I ask because he has only texted me once ( literally one text) since Sunday and I obviously do like him so I wan't to beat the anxiety and the high that I have from the first date as I would like to hear from him ..

Is this type of "non -existant communciation" normal between dates this early on? Could this be a sign of lack of interest or too early to tell?

What was his one text? Typically I would say lack of interest, but he could be worried about the "seeming too anxious" game...why don't you call him up and ask him for a second date?

He said something along the lines of " I know you are up , so Good Morning" I replied and that was that.

He already asked me out on a second date on Sunday...but I just thought that message was a bit inconsistent with his lack of communication

It's normal to have very little communication this early. You've only been on one date, and you already have a second date scheduled. Perhaps he wants to save the conversation for the date. In the days before texting, this is how dating relationships started. Just because we have the technology for it doesn't mean we should be texting each other constantly.

Already got a second date then you are fine! Also it isnt any fun to get to know someone over text message....also if you want, you could just send him a "hope you have a spectacular day" tomorrow....if he is interested that should be a great start to his day too!....so dont worry about not a lot of communication at the moment
