Asking someone out on an LDR?

This girl and I have been talking for weeks, and this weekend we will finally see each other. It's clear that we both like each other a lot, and she's been none too subtle about the fact that she wants me to ask her out. Would this first meeting be too soon?

Also, I'm leaving in about a week and a half and she'll still be in town. I want to propose being in an LDR and just talking on Skype and alternating driving to see each other on free weekends. Is this a good way to put it? (Also, how would I deal with the fact that she might work some or many weekends?)

Why not wait until you actually meet her?

That's what I plan to do. My questions: do I, and how?

I'm seeing her tomorrow for sure. Should I just tell her that I want to be with her, and propose a way to do it? Is this unworkable? Or would it look desperate despite the fact that we like each other and she's been passing me hints?

I think you're rushing it if you're actually asking her to plan to be in a relationship during your first date. - a long distance one, at that. Does she know you're leaving?

Yes, she does. I worry that it may be too soon, myself. But we like each other ... maybe on date number two?

Until you actually meet her, you won't know yourself if you want to be in a relationship with her - never mind whether you like her enough to attempt it LD.

See how the first date goes. If you have a good time, ask for a second date and play it by ear. If things go well, when you move you can tell her you'd like to continue seeing her and see what she thinks.

Good luck. Hope your first date goes well. :)
